My 2006 tundra has some cut wires under the dash and my machine said that when he scanned the truck with the obd2 scanner a lot of codes poped out. I think the previous owner did something to not make the check engine light come on does anyone have a clue what it could be??

    Too many, but not enough....
Probably took the bulb out. Does the symbol illuminate when you start the car?

If there’s evidence of cut wires, then either splicing them back together (cheap option), or a new harness (expensive option) seem to be the only two solutions. Or keep a cheap OBD2 scanner in the door and scan once a week or so. I had the same issue (no CEL), on my pathfinder and kept a scanner in the door.

@Tundra2 is right. This is why it's important to look at people's truck info carefully before listening to what they're saying

Pics of cut wires would probably be really helpful - it's possible they simply removed an alarm, or you still have the guts of an aftermarket alarm in there. Over here, around the 4th or 5th paragraph, you'll find a series of links in one sentence. One of those links points to wiring diagrams. In there, you can backtrace wiring: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

It's 100% possible a previous owner went into the cluster and physically replaced the surface-mount LED, or they may've taken a black Testor's marker and put a few blobs over the LED. I'm not sure how they would've cut a single wire to kill the light though.

2005-2006 has on-board LED for the cluster.
