I've tried researching this with no luck, so thought it was time to turn to the forum. Trying to determine what the last year was for chrome bumpers on 1st Gen Tundras. Thanks, Ron

According to Toyota Brochures, front and rear chrome bumpers were available on certain cab types all the way to 06.

This an an 05 with a chromey front bumper. Note the new style grille. The filler panel(s) between bumper and headlights is different than the earlier 00-03 versions. Bumper appears the same though.

Mine was factory steel bumper. It was chrome, it was bent so I replaced it with a black one

I looked into retrofitting my double cab with a steel bumper last year and yes, a lot of standard cabs had steel bumpers for the whole first gen run.

Thank you all for the great responses to my bumper questions. And Bubba, your "features chart" was a huge assist! And Knabores--my "ride" is a white 2006 Limited access cab with white, fiberglass bumpers. I was considering swapping out the white bumpers for chrome just to break up that all-white appearance and add some "Chromy Bling" to the truck, but changed my mind when I got a quote for the cost of chrome bumpers and front brackets that ran close to $2,000! Thanks again everyone for the responses! Ron

$2000 seems excessive. You could likely convert for $400 or so.
