Just got a 2015 Tundra SR5 - wanting to get rid of the chrome and go black. Haven't had any issues finding parts else than for the trim around the grille. Any recommendations for parts to replace just the trim the runs around the sides bottom with matte black without buying a full new grille? Also any recommendations for interior delete options welcome as well!20221217_090057.jpg

Same here. Just bought mine, and have never liked chrome. For a good portion of mine, I'll be painting it.

@JR2015 @thered I did a chrome delete on my SR5 with Bumpershellz…I am very happy with the results. I chose matte black for mine. 38C55478-5229-45B2-A17E-BE52856BEFA1.jpg

Woahhh, don't paint it. DO. NOT. DO. IT. Paint peels right off of the chrome.

You can always buy our BumperShellz at www.chromestoppers.com! You can use our 10% off Coupon code for Tundras.com Members only, as well! Code: TUN10
They're tons more affordable than a complete replacement, last longer than plastidip (won't fade or chip), and they're made right here in the good ol' USA! :oldglory:

Sorry, I'll add that part of the paint prep will be stripping the chrome.

some of the bumpershells for the hood bulge have broken/peeled off the truck at highway speeds for a few folks. I am not knocking the part or vendor, just relaying info based on posts with pics that I have read here. Plenty of folks use those products with no issues. There are dedicated threads about them, search in upper right.

You can always use the color matched parts available from Toyota. Mcgeorge or sparksparts are decent toyota parts vendors used my many here. And look around, you will often find the hood bulge and surround take offs available for sale for good prices when people swap parts.

That was a long time ago. We changed the configuration of the tape after forum members and other customers called in. This is no longer an issue as far as we've heard. I've been working here for about a year and this is the first I'm hearing about it.

If you had an issue with your hood bulge, please let us know so we can fix it.

Bought OEM front caps, surround, bulge and aftermarket steel rear caps to replace my chrome. The caps came matte black, had them painted at a local collision shop. Wasnt big on covering with ‘shellz’ and was able to sell all of the chrome and grill insert so the cost was pretty much a wash. If youre talking about just the surround in matte I think the SR comes with ‘unpainted’ trim, if you dont want the grill you should be able to sell the one it comes with to recoup some money. Link is for an ‘18 (my truck) so the prior grill is probably cheaper. Was just too lazy to change it.

If you search chrome delete there should be a pile of threads.

Every time you post your truck.... I love my blue and worked hard for it, but I tried for an inferno initially but was only finding used and at higher prices than my blazing blue. Most days its okay, there are a few infernos I see but they still have their chrome so it is no where as good as what you have done.

I almost got blazing blue after my blue ribbon Taco. Its wicked pretty but it was choice #2. Was settling but hubby talked me into sticking it out for the inferno. Was a year before it popped up, theyre hard to find (unmolested). The blue is pretty but my favorite color is orange. Everything I own is orange if I have a choice.. my tractor, truck, glider, shoesies, hell even some of my chickens

Love it. The blue almost looks baby blue in that light.

I also have black front. My bumper caps held up well all winter and even after a deer hit. They will be coming off now, as we are replacing full bumper.

Apart from buying the OEM grill (in order to get the surround), grills and surrounds come up on the FaceBook groups and the forum's marketplace from time to time. As far as interior pieces, AJT Designs makes several overlays and replacement parts; and for dash, center molding and steering wheel panels OEM pieces would be best. If you check my build page ↓ I have some links there and found a cool steering wheel emblem overlay.

Blacked out my 2020 2yrs ago. Went with Bumper Shellz so when they get hurt I can justify a real bumper.

I used hyper dip and it doesn't peel. That being said go slow and buy extra can or 2. It takes more than you think.
