I have a 2011 CM with a 5.7, and there is a clunk whenever I start accelerating (normally, not quickly) from a stop. It gets worse as the truck heats up, happens every time I start moving from a complete stop. The best way that I can describe it is that it feels like the entire rear axle is shifting (loose). After this initial clunk, the truck shifts smoothly, and never clunks while I'm in motion. The truck has 150,000 miles on it. I'm thinking torque converter. Opinions?

A u joint or the carrier bearing is going out. That’s my guess :)

Grease your zerk fittings and see, grease all of them. That stopped it for me.

All fluids were replaced, and everything was lubed about 3 months ago, not long after I bought it. A complete service was done by my dealer, whom I trust.

Sounds like it could be related to this TSB (see attached file). I had something similar on my 2010 FJ.

Thanks. I will look into it, but I may be out of luck due to my mileage.
