Hello, i have a 2001 V8. 4.7 Toyota Tundra. Last Week I started my truck and lost the use of the gas peddle and no response! After checking the ECM fuse and under the hood, all looked fine.

On another thread i found that the connector to the ECM might be a problem. I was able to fix the issue once i saw the corrosion on the one connector that feeds power to the ECM.

I disconnected the battery cable. I removed the white with silver and green stipe wire and added a jumper. I soldered the wire and added heat shrink tubing and connected everything back and POW! things working back to normal!

I made this simple video in hopes of helping a fellow Tundra Owners.

Awesome, but ... have you addressed the source of the water intrusion? Typically on the driver's side, it ends up being a bad windshield seal or A-pillar leak.

Have you checked your in-dash fusebox, since that's the other thing the gets impacted? Here are a few pics of various member's trucks who had similar leaks, we've had a gaggle of 'em with fuseboxes like this & this & this.

Hi! After further investigation, water leak from the front windshield. I had it replaced a few years ago and it leaks but only during a heavy rainstorm. I’m in California and this week we had record rains and flooding. I have to go back and repair the seal asap! thanks!

Highly recommend checking your fusebox also. If you notice anything stupid happening across multiple circuits - windows/door locks, interior lights, headlights, etc., you may've gotten some corrosion in there too.

I checked everything, fuse box looks fine, no funny business nor corrosive stuff. Harness and cables look intact, nothing strange. Locks and lights work fine and don’t notice anything . This December it pass California smog test with flying colors, the smog guy was in aww. Thanks for your input!
