I have a 17 crewmax 4x4 that I want to level with coilovers. Truck is mainly driven on the highway. Will do some light offroading during hunting season. What are my best option for comfort and price?

For comfort, price, and light offroading we generally recommend Bilstein and Eibach kits for the Tundra folks. What kind of budget are you working with? That will help us get a good starting point for you. Are you looking to replace all 4 shocks as well?

I'm just doing the fronts for now. Trying to stay under $1000 or less if that's possible

That should be easy. For what you're doing I recommend a digressive shock, probably the Bilstein 6112. They have a lot of oil volume so they'll not fade over longer days, and the valving will be compliant for daily use. For lift height I would recommend no higher than the 1.3" setting if you want "levelled", and don't plan to lift the rear. The way that Tundra cabs are setup a perfectly level truck looks nose-high IMO. That said, if you want true level that can be achieved as well (OEM rear rake is ~2").

The other option is going to be the Eibach pro-truck shocks. They are a smaller bodied shock compared to the 6112 (2" vs 2.5"), but the benefit that they have is that they are easier to adjust, and can technically be adjusted while the shocks are installed on the vehicle (but it's still recommended to pull them to adjust).

I have not priced them lately but when I bought 6112s they were about $800. I was also able to sell the OEMs since my truck was new. If you are installing you should be able to stay close to $1k. I had them set at 1.9".

I think I'm gonna go with the 6112/5160 kit just so it's all done.

6112/5160. Ranchhand rear bumper and Valhallas Shields.
I've been running 6112s and 5160s on my 15 Crewmax. The front is set at 1.9 and have 1" coach builder shackles in the rear. It ride so much better than stock. Only thing I'd do differently would be set the fronts at 1.6 to give just a little noise down rake.

I agree, in person perfectly leveled Tundras look slightly nose high. What would your answer be for a newer 2024 Tundra in terms of leveling height and type of shocks or shocks w/ coilovers? I have a 1794 w/ TRD-OR coming in 1-2 months and am basically in the same boat as the original poster. I'd like the truck to be level but also ride smoothly as it will be on the road most of the time. I'd prefer to stay under $2K but if there is something worth spending slightly more I'd like to consider between that and something under $2K.

If you notice, this thread I posted is located in the suspension subforum section. Lots of great info in the thread and subforum.

Most popular seems to be the 2.5 inch Bilstein lift that levels out the truck.
