Hey, guys, so I always find the factory set up is very soft and has too much body roll. I recently ordered the TRD front&rear sway bars (still waiting for them to arrive) to aid for this problem. I am also wondering if I upgrade to better coilovers, would it help? I don't want to lift but just want stiffer ride. Any thoughts or recommendation?

I'm not sure but maybe Dobinsons can help with the no lift stiffer springs. An yeah it's way too soft stock. I have a little over 13000 now and the suspension keeps getting worse. I have had many Toyotas trucks/suvs and it's pretty consistent....Toyota stock suspension sucks! An doesn't matter if you get TRD or SR5.
I'm saving for a full Ironman4x4 kit but it lifts the truck so you may not want that. Hope the sway bars help with your situation.

You could add the red/blue shocks from the sport. Along with the sway bars, this will aid in body roll. Ride will be stiffer, however.

Here’s what I did. Not saying this is the way for you to go but.........I just had the Bilstein 6112 coil overs installed in front and did the Bilstein 5160’s in the rear myself on my ‘21 Tundra SR5.

I paid $1200 for the parts. I paid the dealer to install the coilovers/front end alignment(~$500+ after tax). The 6112’s can be factory assembled (~$100) prior to delivery which I highly recommend considering the tension needed to compress the springs to either 3/4”, 1.3”, 1.9”, or 2.5” lift. I went with the 1.3”.

You could save $$ by doing the complete install yourself and driving to a shop for the alignment. I choose to let the shop wrangle the front end work and the factory to set the coilovers.

The ride, turning, stopping and overall handling improved immensely. Well worth the cost to me.

The factory rear shocks were mush. I could squeeze them in and out like an accordion after only 11k miles.

    Hope this helps

Thanks, bro. After a few more research, I think I am going with the same set up as yours. Thanks again.

Also thinking about this as a good fix for a while until the lift. Or maybe no lift??

No lift for sure. The epiphany of after tossing 20 bags of mulch onto the trunk bed. lol

You’re welcome. I realize you don’t want to lift your truck however, the upgrade I did does result in a minimal lift. I didn’t want a lift at all either but settled for what I got and am the happier for it.

    good luck!

41612A67-1D3C-4AD8-A2B3-E4FAB51F7330.jpg ......almost forgot. The rear 5160’s come with a reservoir shock about 1/3 the size of the main shock. The two are connected with a stainless braided hose using swivel connectors to each cylinder.

The factory sends with them a real cheapo kit to clamp them together. You can actually mount the reservoir cylinder to the frame to keep them up and out of the way but you’d have to fabricate that mount yourself. Something I’m future planning for.

For now what I did was (again $$$) buy the Bilstein aluminum clamp set up ~$75. I’d read some complaints the cheapo clamps falling apart in muddy off-road environments.

give me a minute and I’ll post a photo of the rear 5160’s on my truck

correction, the reservoir is 2/3’s the size of the main shock not 1/3

Went over to Wheelers and put together a little kit I'm seriously thinking about getting. May wait until they have another sale.

-Bilstein 6112's assembled to 3/4" setting
-ICON Tundra '07 up rear expansion pack kit- adds 1.5" rear lift and replaces most of the leafs
-Eibach pro truck rear sport shocks
    -Wheelers front superbumps

Comes out to $1427.75 with free shipping. Very tempting

Falcons ride worlds better than the Bilsteins.
Body roll is gone and the ride is excellent.
    I also added Coachbuilder +1s.

I’m thinking of getting new front bump stops as the 6112’s created more of a gap there. The factory bump stops are more solid than I expected.
