Has anyone experienced issues with a Compustar security + remote start install on their non-hybrid Tundras (2022+)? I had the CSXP9913-AS installed (same as T13 Pro) at a shop that has the designation of "Compustar Pro" (higher certification than most dealers). Unfortunately, my factory alarm goes off under all 3 of the below scenarios.
    1. Alarm armed/vehicle locked and I approach the vehicle and Compustar's "proximity unlock" feature unlocks the vehicle.
    2. Alarm armed/vehicle locked and I press unlock on the remote
    3. Alarm armed/vehicle locked and I press/activate remote start

The installer said Compustar technical support told them I need to go to the Toyota dealership and tell them to "Turn ON Analog Disarm with factory key in the door". After an hour at the dealership, the Toyota Master Tech stated he would not do so because that feature is tied to 3 ECUs and would basically disable the vehicle. So, now I'm stuck in a holding pattern where the installer is saying the problem is with Toyota factory settings and Toyota refusing to make the change. And I did call Compustar customer service but they said only dealers can speak to their technical support team.

    Any suggestions?

This sucks; sorry to hear you’re having this issue. I would politely ask the master tech to talk to the computer customer support team to try to troubleshoot. They may not want to do that without charging you but it’s worth a shot.

aside from that I would consider removing the computer remote start and explore a Toyota factory remote start (if in fact the tech is telling you the truth).

I asked my service rep if I could get the Master Tech to speak directly with Compustar and he said "It won't change his stance; he's not comfortable making the change and potentially disabling your vehicle." And even if he was open to it, it takes hours to get a callback from Compustar and once you do, they will not connect me nor Toyota's Master Tech to technical support, as we are not the installer. I asked the installer - in a roundabout way - if they could consult with Compustar again and was told Compustar had identified that having a Toyota dealer turn on Analog Disarm was already a known resolution for such case. Maybe I try a different dealership. I just find it very odd that anyone installing Compustar on a 3rd gen would need to take the extra step with a dealership.
As for Toyota factory remote start, I intentionally opted for a 3rd party remote start because Toyota forces you into agreeing to have your driving data sold to insurance companies. Not okay with me.

Or just dump compustar and start over with another manufacturer of remote starting system.

I was hoping to not flush $1000 down the drain just yet.

Anyone near the NW Houston/Hockley/Waller (Texas) area that has a TechStream? Lunch or dinner - wherever you like - on me, or cash, if that's preferred.

I know but I'm just old fashioned and with these new cars if it ain't plug and play stay far far away.

Has to be a toyota owner somewhere on the web that has had the same problem?

For remote start look at Accesorides or Start-X. Both are essentially P&P except for tapping 2 wires, IIRC. Accessorides has a 2-way remote option but I believe Start-X has only 1-way. Start-X are cheaper. Both also have optional paid app services, that are ~$20/year.

i would have to say, if you make a remote start that pretty much requires you to bypass oem 3 ecu's and to disable 3 internal security checks to get your system to work, then i think you as a company are taking shortcuts to get a product out the door.

i would stay away from that. might have to re-think getting a drone mobile remote start since compustar is the parrent company of drone mobile.

I'm afraid you'll have to try another dealership and agree with the alarm installer that their tech will be available to call Compustar tech support and do a 3-way conference call with the shop foreman so they can discuss.

And have alarm installer to find out from Compustar how many gen 3 tundras they actually have their system on, and confirm that their proposed fix won't do any harm to the truck. You may have to sign some sort waiver as a last step for dealership to adjust ecu as you require so they're not liable if your truck breaks. (if you really want to do this)

And another option is to just use Compustar as standalone alarm, so it won't be tied in to your truck ecu, you'll have to use two remotes.

I want alarm as well, but pretty scared to have anyone mess with with electronics in these new trucks... Dealer will use aftermarket alarm to potentially not do any work related to electrical or anything close...

yeah that statement right there will be a generic catch all for toyota to deny any claims related to anything electronic. they will ask you to remove the 3rd party device.

only way around that is if the dealer installed the remote start/alarm at time of sale and its noted on the sale paperwork.
