I’m new to this site and looking at buying a 2024 Hybrid with 5800 miles. Does the Hybrid engine on the 2024’s have the same issues and are there recalls on them?
    Thanks,

The hybrids have avoided the recall. There are some reports here and there of issues, but no big statements yet from Toyota. I'd be curious as to why someone ditched it after 6k miles. Have you checked the service history?

The engines are the same between the hybrid and non. The recall is a safety recall for the non-hybrids. Toyota is not including the hybrids due to the ability to control the hybrid in the event of engine failure (electric power steering and electric drive motor assist). But they both have the same flaw. 2024 is also not included in the recall, but there have been 2024 failures from the same cause as the earlier recalled trucks. Several threads on this site speculating about all of this, lots of feelings involved from those that do and don’t own one surrounding all of this, but those are the facts. Some will tell you it’s all fine now and the 2024 and 2025 models are all safe to buy and won’t fail. They will also say it’s fine to buy an earlier model since Toyota will give you a new engine as part of the recall. I’m still patiently waiting the situation out before I consider a new Toyota with the 3.4TT V6. Wifey really wants a new Seqouia or GX550.

I was told he traded it in on a GMC 2500? The GMC dealer is selling it, Tks for your reply!

That makes sense, they aren't great for heavy duty and heavy towing. The 2500 would suit him much better.

Also consider those 5k miles might have been trying to tow 2500 pickup weight. If that truck could handle what he was pulling, they would not have traded it.
