I need to get a console safe for my 21 Tundra. I’m thinking a split safe so I can keep items like guns locked while the rest of the console is open. I follow Youtubers like Tundra dude 34 but the safe he recommended (3 years ago) is no longer available. Sparks parts has one that they claim is Oem for $294. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Look at Lock'er Down. I have their full console safe in mine. I think they have a 1/2 console.

Whatever this forum told me to do
I like the 1/2 split safe for the same reasons you mentioned.

no idea the brand I have...I got it when I purchased the truck.

Console Vault makes a good one for the money, $149 currently.
For what it does, it's good enough.

    Too many, but not enough....
this is the one reason i regret not having a center console. No good place for a gunsafe that is somewhat easily accessible.

Bench seat. There is a storage area under the middle seat, but you have to put the middle seat back upright in order to open the storage compartment under the middle seat.

Can you show me the compartment in the TOP of the middle arm rest?

I dont have my truck at work since I ride my bike. Its very small. I can fit a subcompact in there no problem, but no way to do a safe.

Here is a link to a thread that shoes both the foldable console and the storage area:

Gotcha. When I had a truck with a similar setup, I just rocked a Glock in the lower compartment. Assuming you always have the middle seat down, most burglars are not going to know to check that lower compartment. If you’re really worried about it, stick it in a small V-Line simplex box and drop that down in there.

I have never wanted a safe in my console. If I kept my gun in one, and needed it quick, it's even more of a bad idea.

I like to have a safe for when I’m using Valet or running into a store etc. just something to thwart a smash and grab thief.

I really like the Toyota one. It’s easy to install and works great. Maybe @Roman can help you track one down.

I typically have my gun in an unlocked and accessible area while driving. However, I frequently visit locations that don’t allow handguns and prefer my gun in a safe for those situations. Plus I fish and jog etc and it’s nice to be able to leave valuables locked up in a safe

It's Amazon, you can return it if it's bad. The seller has only had is available since January, that's probably why only 1 review and it was a good one.
I'd buy it and if it was bad, I'd return it. It wouldn't cost you anything but time.

Damn, guess he had to raise prices. It’s built like a brick shithouse though (plate steel) and has a non-battery Simplex lock. Plus the gas strut so it pops right up. Wonderfully built. Expensive, yes, but great peace of mind.

I picked up the OEM Console Vault from Toyota and installed it myself on my 2021. I've had no issues; install was straightforward and clean.... Value (price for what you get) is good!

I’d be cautious about the return. It is a 3P seller and not Prime, so investigate prior to purchase if a return is possible.

So a service rep at a dealer a few weeks ago had told me $549 for a console safe. I Decided to call a few dealers including that one just now and they all say the console safe is $305 plus tax ($335). It’s made by Console Vault.

sparks parts has it for $294 but I’d have to pay $28 in shipping (I’m in Dallas area). If I go with the Toyota version I guess I’m better off ordering and picking up from Dealer.

The other issue is having to deal with removing it once installed. Seems like that would be a pain. I want to be confident I’m buying one many others have used without issue.
