These suckers are LOUD. Stunner, right? Mud tires are loud, the sky is blue, and water is wet. Now I’ve built 5 Tacomas, a Jeep, an E-350 Quigley and one Tundra. I’ve generally used BFG TA, KO2, KM2 and Goodyear MTRS. As soon as I had these mounted I regretted my decision. I take care of my tires. I’ve rotated every 3k, I’ve done 2 alignments. They look great, but they’re just plain noisy and create an unreal amount of low speed vibration (at this point). So, if anyone is on the fence, and searched through countless threads saying they aren’t noisy, please take it from me, they’re a loud loud mud tire.

I’m at around 28k mi on these and swapping out for some 275/70r18 ko2s this weekend.

    currently 295/70r18 on icon suspension7A68FDF6-89B8-42A3-8D83-D152C01E18CA.jpg

Yup. Don’t buy ‘em for looks; they’re loud.

But for heavy duty off-road performance, they’re great— and worth the noise on the freeway to get to dirt. Definitely should be a purpose-based decision.

FWIW my Toyo ATIII have been rather loud from the get go. Significantly louder than my Cooper Maxx with 22kish miles on them. My cooper maxx were probably the quietest tires I have ever owned lol

Agreed on the Maxx, for the performance those tires offer, they are ridiculously quite. Have them on the wife’s Sequoia. Have the STT Pro on the tundra, and agree they are noisy, but I don’t mind. As @Sunnier said, was a purpose decision, and they perform great Offroad.

I am actually really pissed they don’t sell the STT Pro in a 37x12.5r18... :anonymous:

I have a set in storage that are 295/70/18. I had a set of ST Maxx's too in the same size.

Why in the world would you get STT’s if you’re not wheeling?

There's no problem with the tires, just turn up the stereo.

the cooper stmaxx I had were super loud, but I think because the previous owner ran them on a low psi and caused the tires the cup. My falkens were a night and day difference when I switched, way quieter but I noticed the traction severely decreased too

I get it, but you might be missing my point. Additionally, where I live, this truck is used daily on beach/secondary roads.

my truck came with Falken AT3ws and I came to the same conclusion after driving in slightly wet roads. Thought they were garbage and ditched them quick

My ST Maxx's did quite well on wet surfaces and in the snow. Not overly noisy and wear quite well too. The STT's are M/T's so I don't care. Running on Patagonia M/T's now and really liking them so far after 6K miles in all conditions.

I’ve put KM2ms on 5 rigs, no complaints. I’ve eyeballed the km3’s a few times
