    Rant warning:
    7pm appt 7:15 take keys
8:30pm notified they snapped a TPMS off. Can’t replace. “You can go buy one and if dealer installs we will reimburse “ (Temper meter 7 out of 10)
10pm given keys and tires not at pressure I requested.
Went to truck and wheels and tires look like they did oil change before they did my tires.
(Temper meter: 9.5 out of 10)

Three hours for this plus I get to go spend 1-2 hours at a dealer then wait 7-10 days for reimbursement??? I’m self employed so they can pay me for my time.

Tomorrow afternoon I’ll be sitting with Costco manager. He just doesn’t know it yet. WTF??

FYI: tire rotations were taking 2+ hours.

    1 pissed man

I didn’t know the tire center works that late.
Hope it all works out for you.

As good as Costco is….I’ve never heard of people having a pleasant experience with their tire center/ service so I never bothered. I go to Discount Tire exclusively for all vehicles and my trailers. Excellent service and they will price match anyone on the same tire, even Amazon.

Unless they step up I’ll go get price match for same tires, swap em then return tires to Costco. Then they can eat $1200 in tires with a side of tpms repair.

Dude that’s sucks sorry to here that. I worked at a local area chain tire shop as an assistant working manager (similar to a Costco tire shop) for 5 months. I’m surprised they are open that late. From my experience most of the workers are over worked and underpaid, low morale and have lots of personal drama issues. Sounds like they over scheduled, and or maybe their guys got lazy and didn’t care. From my experience it’s like babysitting grown men. You can’t push them to hard because they will quit and then you have no one to take their place. It’s a tough industry to work in.

Same with Sam’s Club. Bought Wildpeaks there and with the free rotations/balances they didn’t know how to do it properly. The last time going there they said they didn’t have the proper tool so I said F them and paid Discount Tire to do the lifelong rotation, etc. Once they said they pricematch other businesses, it sealed the deal

You have to remember, Costco has a few rules, like OEM size for your vehicle. You want something other than the factory size, the will not do it. Also they will not over inflate your tire for you, inflate to factory spec only. Drives me crazy, but lawyers! ````What does suck is the TPMS thing. The fact they will reimburse you is good, just sad it has to go that route! Good Luck...

I went to a lot of tire only shops, see the guys in front only worry about the books while the guys in the back are on the edge of breaking. when we think we are paying a lot for our wheels and tire, and the guy who work on it should pay a little more attention on details, but when you are over work and under pay, it's hard to care.

Went back to Costco Saturday pm.
-Tire manager started the excuses and I stopped them. We had a chat regarding my observations as someone who has been self employed for 40 years.

-I’ll buy the sensor to be certain it’s right part number and reimbursement when repair takes place.
-They’ll bump me in immediately to repair sensor (once they figure out which tire it is and best installer)
-Costco manager gave me $100 gift card.
-I will go elsewhere for rotations or do myself in future.
All good now. Give and take on both sides.

    Never mentioned tires:
Michelin Defender LTX M/S LRE in 275/65/18
Weigh 48lbs which is less than the Ridge Grapplers (56lbs). Not a lot of miles yet but smooth riding for sure

Thanks for letting me rant in first post

BJs warehouse was like that to me. 265/70r16s were a factory option with alloy starfish wheels but the door jamb states 245/70r16. Really? Can’t vary from the door jamb for a factory option? Idiots.

Our Costco has good prices on BFG tires and will put whatever tire you want on for you so it must vary by location / who is working the desk.

    Discount was still better

I can't imagine wanting to buy tires at a grocery store and have them install them...

I buy tires at a tire place not some oversized grocery store - to save what? Discount tire knows what they're doing since that is All they do, best customer service of any company consistently across the country that I've ever experienced, very well run and they don't sell you left over tires no one else carries.

Costco isn't really a grocery store. Maybe you're talking about a Walmart? Costco has a fully functional tire center that I'm sure hires the same people who are working at whatever tire place you love, good prices and pays their employees better. Members get a decent chunk of what they spent back as cash and warranty through Costco is second to none.

Little secret - tire work is not rocket science

My tires are all 2422 (week/year)
Problem is this location just has some lame employees. Management owned it and addressed issue head on

In general the country’s workforce is subpar. Costco pays extremely well and offers excellent benefits. Finding good employees today is a real issue
