I bought this cowboy hat holder, and am trying to determine if I can mount it in this location without putting a hole in my roof. I know the back seat is an option where the handle is, but I would prefer it be here if possible. I know I need metal to screw it into.

Yes i believe so, i’ve had that panel put several times. You can pop that console out though to be sure. Either way you may be able to put a backer plate behind it and sure it up.

You might be able to give a backing plate a little more capacity by using either epoxy or magnets between it and the roof. Epoxy could also be used to secure nuts to the top side of the plate then cut fasteners to the length needed. Good luck and welcome to the forum!

Anyone find a fix for this? I have a similar hat holder and I am looking to mount it in the same place.
