Went to replace my gas tank straps and install the RCI skid plate and found a bit of a problem. The frame mount where my rear gas tank strap bolts in is cracked. I ghetto rigged it for now, but has anyone had this problem and fixed it? What was the process?

    Hi Hanzo,

I asked the same question earlier this year. My bracket is just about rusted out. See the response from Techwrench in my question.

Bracket is part of the crossmember. One option is to get the crossmember replaced. I’ve been checking around local shops. 1st shop said they could fabricate a bracket and weld it to the crossmember. 2nd shop said the same as well but I have yet to bring it into them to get assessment. Hope this helps. I’ll post back up if i get it fixed soon. Let me know what you end up doing if you don’t mind. I have an 07 DC.
