Would love to see the risk involved in getting a sunroof. Have you had any issues with the sunroof leaking, not opening, not closing, etc.

How often do you clean your sunroof drain tubes or what other maintenance do you do and how often.

    Good question.

I hate sunroofs. With a passion. But the truck I wanted had a sunroof so I deal with it. I don't open it. ever.

...and the same for my 2021 4 runner.

I can say from observation over the past 7 years of daily browsing t4r and 4 years on tundras.com I have seen extremely few sunroof issues compared to other vehicles.

That said there is a non-trivial number of sunroof threads to sift through.

Are you asking about factory installed sunroofs or aftermarket installed sunroofs?

I'd be interested in hearing from people who have had them installed aftermarket. A local dealership told me they could take it to a shop to have one installed if I'd like. People keep telling me not too because it'll leak, not that they have any personal experience, but it's made me question it. My last 3 vehicles have had a moonroof, factory installed, and I never had an issue. My Tundra does not, it's the only thing missing that I wanted, I miss it when driving during night and/or spring/fall but other than that I don't really think about it. I think having the rear roll down window in the crewmax makes up for it lol.

I love my factory sunroofs in my 19 4Runner and 21 Tundra.... No issues.

I'd never do an aftermarket sunroof. Too many leakage and horror stories...

I always open my moonroof. Just tilt it on a chilly morning or wide open with all 5 windows down and it feels like a convertible.

I have a 2019 Crew. Recently my sunroof stopped working. Dealership wants $4200.00 to repair. All I want to do is pull the fuse. My research has come up short. Does anyone have an idea what fuse it is?
    Greatly appreciate any help.

Should be in fuse panel inside the truck under the driver side dash
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/interior-fuse-box-location-and-information.3720/#post-54498
In the second picture, of the fuse panel cover, looks like its the top left fuse 25A S/ROOF
    Hope that helps

Sunroofs are a love hate relationship. Most hate them but taken care of they are fine. The first no no is driving with it open while off-roading in thicker trails. All of the dust, bark debris from overhead branches etc. get in the tracks. At the end of the day when you close it where does all of that stuff go?

This is my 3rd vehicle with a sunroof and I have no problems. My first one was on a 1993 LandCruiser and it had problems not closing all the way when I got it. There is a 18 point tune up process or something like that which takes a while but when finished it worked spot on for the next 11 years and wheeled the shit of of that

Zero issues on my sunroof on my 2018. Use it quite a bit and nothing to report. Just my .02

I stay away from them, lose headroom and just another thing to have issues or leaks. Ive had a few vehicles with them without issue but my wife has had problems with sunroofs in vehicles and so have several others I know.

I skip a sunroof if at all possible, dont really use one that much, generally is too cold or hot most of the time and I usually save at least a grand on a vehicle purchase choosing a vehicle without a sun/moon roof.
