I have a 2016 Crewmax that has begun to vibrate bad at highway speeds. Weather was nice today so I started removing wheels to wash mud off thinking it was causing balance issues. Found front passenger side sprayed with oil/grease. Looks like the seal on differential. Could CV be causing the vibration? Any recommendations for replacements?

I'd look up the part number through a toyota parts website, I think it would be wise to get one from toyota than an off brand cv axle. You can jack up the front end and spin the tire to see if anything looks bent or out of spec, it's worth a shot. Also check the carrier bearing, I believe I'm about to replace mine as the rubber bushing is starting to have a fair bit of play and I get vibrations on the hwy every so often. Can you post some pictures of the oil leak? I'm sure someone here will have an answer for you

Thanks for the response. I'll get some pics today.

Looks like it is grease coming from the band on the inner boot. I couldn't see an obvious tear.

From the 2nd picture, it looks like the axle isnt lined up up correctly, like it could be sagging a bit, it could have popped out of the cup, or snapped, I would jack up the front end and rotate the tire and watch for excess play or binding. You can also grab the axle and shake it up and down, side to side to see if it snapped or popped out. Now I could be completely wrong about this but I'm just going off of what I see in the second picture

Thanks. I did jack it up this morning and didn't notice binding, or excessive play. Took it up to highway speeds and the vibration was gone after clearing mud off of rear wheels. Might have to see if warranty will cover anything.
