I've searched at local stores, Ebay, Amazon, and online, but I couldn't find the cv boot kit for the 2005 Tundra 4wd axle that has the tripod end on the inner side. Can anyone tell me any source?

The picture showing the core inside is not from my Tundra, but it looks very similar.

Do those boots work with the tripod axle? The pictures don't show the inside of the boot.

Really? I bought 2 of them before, and the pictures from online retailers also have that tripod axle. The picture of the whole axle above is for my Tundra. It's 2005 4WD.

Our trucks don’t have tri pods, it’s a 5 pod if I recall, the dealer sells boot kits with grease, give them a call

Well hell. Just went searching around and I'll be damned. Gonna have to eat a bunch of my words. The tripod (also known as "tulip") style is after market design. I've had three 1G Tacomas, two 1G Tundras, and two 3G 4Runners and they've all had that tripod/tulip style on them and I thought they were all original. I just went and looked under my current 1G Tundra and it's got the non-tripod sryle (and they are 100% OEM). Man, I thought I knew these trucks. Haha.

Ok. So, OP is looking for boots that fit the after market tripod/tulip style.

No idea where to find those, but i would try after market parts houses since that'll be where those style CVs come from. Maybe check RockAuto?

Like I mentioned before, you can cut a portion of the old tulip style boot and fit it in with a new rounded style boot. Like this: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-angle-inner-cv-boot-on-tulip-cv-axle.363207/

That ALL being said... you can get new OEM CV axles for around ~$150 each (including $75 core charge which you get back so really only ~$15] total.)I hate redoing CV boots personally--so messy and slippery--worth it to me for new OEM ones all ready to go for only ~$150. (Try buying a new OEM Land Cruiser CV axle... flipping $400 EACH!)

Your not completely wrong, I do believe 3rd gen runners and probably tacos of the era had tulip style axels, in one of Timmy the tool talkers videos, for replacing the boots, it’s definitely a tulip design. That’s what kinda threw me off when I did mine.

This is what the plunge joint looks like on our OEM CVs :)

Regardless, I pulled this up from a 4Runner forum and they're using a normal boot on a tri-pod design.
Highly recommend the re-manufactured OEM CV route. I purchased one recently and returned a broken core. They will not accept aftermarket axles as core returns though.

    Part number is 43430-0C010-84

Ha! Was just watching that video. My mind is blown! https://youtu.be/vcCT4UgFUTw

I "learned" years ago that 1G Tundra and 1G Tacoma had identical CV axles other than 1G Tundra had a longer center shaft. That is obviously not true!

Ok, so, which is stronger I wonder? Probably the Tundra design since it's a heavier truck and higher HP and torque (with the V8)....

So OP, I'd bet those 1G Tacoma tulip style boots will fit right up.

From the Timmy video (They're looking at the Factory Service Manual for a 3G 4Runner):

Thanks for everyone's recommendation. I'll probably try the Tacoma boot since it's easier than cutting the old one and slide another boot on.
