Hello everyone. I am ready to put a dash cam (front and rear), no cabin view, in the truck. I’ve done some research on both of these. Does anyone have either or recommended either? Yall have been pretty great with info here in the past. Thanks!

Dont have any helpful info for you on those but I was really wanting to get a dash cam and did a ton of research, couldn't decide on one. Then I also really wanted a GoPro. So I justified the GoPro purchase to use it as a dashcam, I just run it with no battery installed and have had good luck with it and the video quality is outstanding, just gotta remember to press the record button when you start the truck.

I have the fitcam in mine. It’s there for worst case scenario. I like it because replaces the whole housing so it looks oem.

How was the install? Did you hardwire to fuse box? Or use the adaptive harness they provide? Also any insight on the anti glare lenses?

I have the FitcamX in my Tundra and a universal FitcamX in my wife's TrailBoss.

Mine is wired through the harness provided while I have my wife's hardwired into the fuse box. I've thought about buying the fuse box wire kit for mine but haven't, mostly just wanted it for while driving.

I've never had a dashcam until this so I can't compare, but so far I'd say quality is good. I had to warranty the universal unit in my wife's truck once, while driving she hit a bump and the memory card ejected on it's own, I tried to reinsert the card but it wouldn't lock into place, FitcamX replaced the unit quickly without any issue.

    None....
I got a cobra 400d. I bought it from best buy on sale and had bought a extra warranty. I only got about 550 days out of it and it would just lock up not record. I tried new memory cards, cords ect. The main unit was bad probably from the heat of being stuck to a Windsheild. I'm on the second one only because i had the warranty.

I like pretty much everything about it, besides two things. 1 It broke in less than two years, The app to get the video clips onto your phone sucks and doesn't work 90 percent of time. The memory card easily pops out of the side to take out and put into a computer.I like the front and back camera quality. I like how it's easy for people to see the camera when their outside my truck.

Has anyone used fitcamX on 2016 and prior? Their website shows 2017-2021 Tundra. I prefer not to use the universal model. Thanks,
