I’ve got a factory installed oem dash cam and watched a bunch of videos of installs. I’ve tried shutting off the Bluetooth and the cellular data steps. I’ve gotten it to the screen on the phone where it searches for the dash cam and it stays there until the wifi beeps off. What else do I need to do? Help

I've got one as well. On the date of purchase, my salesman went over the cam with me and it was working. Guess I wasn't paying attention because since then, I can't get it to connect. Next time I'm near the dealership, I'll stop by and get another "tutorial".

I got one installed when we picked up the truck and while it appears to be recording, I can't access it with my iPhone. The app won't connect to it but it tries. I just gave up and will take it up with the dealer when I go back for servicing.

I know the SD card can be removed so if I really need to see the footage, I can just pull the card and stick it in the computer.

I’ve heard there needs to be a new form ware update installed. Let me see if I can find the link.

hopefully this helps. I’ve yet to set mine up.

Will watch this. Once I can get a windshield replaced (3-5 months) then I will stick one on. My wife’s Lexus gets hers in2 weeks

Up date. My wife's Lexus one ( same as Toyota ) had same problems. 2 weeks of dicking with it ... I ripped it out and got my money back. When I was leaving the dealer the mechanic came up to me and said less that a 10% success rate with them.

I installed my BlackVue on the weekend. The hard work was already done with the power running up to the mirror. I had one installed at the dealer that never worked then I tried a Garmin and it worked for a day, then the Blackvue and it is amazingly clear in high rez.

I got the 900x single channel. Ordered it from Amazon. I still have to work out the settings and the parking mode. I was quite amazed at the image quality at least in the day light. I still have to try it at night.

One thing that you need to do is disconnect your phone from the carplay so you can connect to the camera. They fight each other and the carplay usually wins.

I'm not sure if this helps but I've had issues connecting to this camera and other wifi cameras due to the phone wanting to auto disconnect from any wifi that doesn't have internet access. Specifically I had to forget the camera network, then re-connect and wait for the notification and then tap that and say "stay connected" after I set that setting from the notification pop up it seems the app works as specified.

Honestly, connecting to the dash cam through the app is useless. Download speeds for video clips is very slow. No particular reason for "live view". If you ever need clips, just remove the sd card and plug it into a PC/Laptop. If you absolutely just want to connect, make sure your bluetooth is off and wifi is on (on your phone). Then, on the dashcam, press the wifi button (lights up blue). Open the app on the phone, select connect, it will then take you to your iphone wifi>settings. Then select the dashcam from there. Go back to the dashcam app and you should be connected. If that doesn't work, maybe you need a software update. On my video below, I went through the connection process using screen recording if that helps.

I went through that exact process and it didn’t connect. I tried updating the software and it says I don’t have a phone connected to it so it doesn’t give me the option to update

I don't think it's a phone update, but an update to the truck's software by the dealership. At least, that's what they told me when I kept telling them live view won't work lol. I ended up returning the camera and never bothered with it afterwards. Will I consider purchasing it again? NOPE. There should be something available with donger tech by now and a camera that can plug right into that harness in the overhead. That OEM camera is definitely not worth no $499.

I have an appt with them about it in a couple of weeks. If they can’t get it to work I’ll just try to get them to cut me a check for it and go with something else. The guy that sold me the truck was walking around asking all the salespeople and none of them said they ever got it to work

Just got my truck that came with the dashcam. I was able to connect, but everytime I try using Apple Carplay its telling me I have to disconnect from the dashcam to use Carplay. Smh.
