Anyone have experience with DD Audio subwoofers? Not as mainstream as a lot of other brands, but they appear to have a good following in the industry.

I hope to have some more info in the next couple days on this one. I understand that this enclosure is a new item for them, not yet on their website. I’ll start digging for more specs, as well as to see if they’ll be offering a single 12” option… Tuned frequency is reportedly 35hz!

I’ve just never been around any DD, except that one gal…

Nobody? After some digging, it looks (on paper) that a SL612 might fit the bill right in line with a JL 12TW3. A little more output, but with a higher power requirement. Price is a bit lower, as well.

Pretty tempted to try one and build a ported box in the 1.2 ft3, tuned in the 33-34hz range. Worst case, the box would also fit a 12 TW3 if I hate the DD…

DD makes some pretty decent stuff. I’d like to see the price on this unit to see how it compares to someone like tech12volts proven offering.

The fun has began. Ordered a pair of DD subs. A 10 and a 12.

Started mock-up process today, and will be working with wood soon enough. We’re looking at about 1.4 cubic feet gross volume if we can squeeze it all in there like we’re planning. Hoping to net 1.0 to 1.2 ft3 and squeak the 12” sub in there. Looks really close so far, but we may need to use the 10 in order to drop the centerline of the driver low enough to have adequate mounting depth.

    We’re shooting for a 33hz tune.

More to come, boys. I’ll post up when we get something solid.

Worst case, and it’s certainly not a bad thing, is we bag on the DD and order up a 12TW3 for the shallower mounting depth.

What’s the mounting depth on the 10 and 12 you ordered?
