    Hey fellas,

I have a post around here somewhere asking how folks went about de-chroming the bumper ends... and finally got around to doing something myself. I used ECoological BumperShellz and they look great. I believe @EC1 is an owner or atleast has posted here before about them. When I called they said they had painter issues and coulden't stock color matched, but did have the "textured black tpo" which is a close match to the middle of the bumper.

Install was simple and took about 45 mins. These shells lay right on top of the chrome via some of the existing mount points, and 3M tape.

Not a bad >$150 option if you want to get rid of the chrome.

So they cover your fog light bezels?

Do they fit good enough not to mess with my OCD issues?:eek2:

No uneven seams or look like they are literally taped onto the chrome?

    I'm seriously considering them..

Man this is something I could get behind for sure. Ditto on the fitment question, you pretty happy with them overall?

I have a set in the box, haven't had a chance to install due to moving this summer. They look good. My concern is the way it covers the sensor, always look like they are dimpled in somewhat.. I reviewed the video, and they show a method to help, but they still look like they are dimpled somewhat..

Such an easy way to dechrome the bumpers but I’m worried about salt getting behind em and start rusting the chrome. @EC1 have any input?

If the bumper ends were easier to take off, I would opt for direct application of Bed Liner or Powder Coat...unfortunately, they seem like a bugger to get at.

I'm worried about moisture too, similar to a drop in bed liner that many are opposed to

I was just thinking if it would be possible to get some fluid Film behind em once they are installed. Might be a good way to go to prevent rust.

100% certain moisture can get behind them. If even just around the fogs. New end caps from a dealer aren't such a big deal that if I start to rummage in 10 years and mine are a bit shitt, I'd just get new ones and have them painted.

They are an excellent option at 125 bucks. I'm pretty picky and these aren't offending me in any way. As one guy pointed out, there is a slight dimple effect around the parking sensor, but that doesn't bother me at all. Only you would see that.

Also - it would take all of 10 minutes to remove them. So worst case, I guess you are out the cost of a dinner and drinks.

Are they better than removing the ends, prepping the chrome, and having them powder coated? Probably not. Are they better than dealer OEM parts, painted in 1G3 for $500-600? Probably not. They are the best option in their respective price/effort position.

Worst part about these, they cover the foglight bezels. Personal opinion.

Although we've only had this model available for about 2 years, we've had a lot of similar applications out on the market for about 7 years. So far, we haven't had an instance of that happening. If your bumper has already started to rust or is pitted, it isn't going to prevent rust. However, it's purposely not sealed on the bottom so that water shouldn't remain trapped anywhere.

$450 for the set of fronts and backs, up here in Canada. So a bit more than the cost of a dinner and drinks

I’m super happy with my TPO set after more than year. Still doing just fine!
I’ve also had them off and the chrome underneath is still perfect, plenty of drainage.

Ah, I see. Can’t I pull the bulb for replacement from behind? What would be point, other than completely swapping out the entire assembly?

Thought so. I had it off to install the caps to begin with, since the parking sensors need to be pulled.

Let me be more specific sorry. My personal issue with these is that if I wanted set of foglights that required removing bezels, it’ll be quite the headache. And it looks awkward to me, in super white with the caps covering so much of the bezels.

    I'd like this as well.
I'm thinking I'd try the fronts and maybe the rears if I like them.

I emailed you about your return policy but haven't received a response.
I couldn't find it on the website..
