I am shopping, and wanting to get a new Tundra. I have seen some of these dealers in the past selling vehicles with lifetime powertrain warrranty as long as you own the vehicle. Anyone know of a Toyota doing this? I will travel if i have too.

I had never heard of this before, but it seems that Midlands Toyota in Columbia, SC (a 45 minute drive away) offers this. I googled "Toyota Lifetime Warranty" and it was the top match. Probably cause google knows where I live. Maybe try doing the same?

I bought from a dealer that has a Lifetime Warranty. I put about as much stock in it as nothing. I consider it a gimmick.

Not a gimmick at all in my case. My Nissan dealer has been owned by the same family for 60 years. Tynan's. It's known for their lifetime warranty option on new cars. The catch......all oil changes and required service intervals MUST be done with them while you own the vehicle. $100 deductible if warranty work is done. This kicks in after the Nissan warranty runs out. I have it. Nissan's extended warranty is still offered of course. Ask questions. Read the fine print. Tynan's also has the largest American flag flying in Colorado. :oldglory:

First team Toyota in Chesapeake, va has lifetime power train but I think the catch is they have to do the maintenance on it. Not positive though, you’d have to read the fine print.

The dealer I bought the Camry commuter I had made a big deal out of the lifetime warranty. Then they sold out a couple years later. My guess the lifetime warranty went in the rubbish bin the moment the ink dried on the dealership sales contract. Possibility of getting honored by the new owner is absolutely zero.

John Roberts Toyota in Manchester, TN (an hour or so south of Nashville) gave me a lifetime warranty (engine only I believe) on my certified 2.5. Only stipulation is oil changes every 5k miles, does not have to be done at the dealership. I’m sure there is finer print.

The best response here would be anyone that ever got a repair covered by one of these. There is a lot of follow the fine print to a T, odds you sell or wreck the vehicle, odds you move or odds we are long gone to make actual payout a lottery odds.

Local dealer here makes that claim.... "Home of the lifetime warranty" on the radio all day long. I'm sure it covers everything, EXCEPT what happens to be broken on your vehicle....
Service Advisor: "Didn't you read the fine print???"

Traditionally the best response here is that no one needs a lifetime warranty. On a Toyota. Times are changing I guess.

Lifetime warranty could be legit or marketing. Get a copy of list of what is covered and what is not. If they don’t have a list you are at high risk of it not being covered if you have an issue. Few things in life are free or what a salesman tells you. If it’s not in writing it doesn’t exist. OEM Toyota warranty is legit and good anywhere in US or Canada.

This^ I think the common denominator is "family owned." Adam Tynan finalized my paperwork. His grandfather started the dealership 60 years ago. Tynan prides themselves on service. A money maker. Do they please everyone? Probably not. If for some crazy reason the Tynan family decides to sell, it would be extremely foolish for the new owners to void all previous sales contracts. Yeah, piss off your existing customer base on your first day. LOL

I my case the lifetime warranty is legit and a marketing tool. Everything is spelled out and gone over before signing. Due diligence. There was no slight of hand tactics. If you are not keeping your vehicle for very long, then it's foolish to get a "lifetime" warranty. Of course not all dealers are the same.

By the time you pay for all the oil changes and other maintenance at the dealer, IF they have to fix anything under the warranty, it has typically been paid for by the exorbitant service charges.

Remember, "routine maintenance" items such as brakes, tires, filters, spark plugs, belts, hoses, etc, etc, are not covered.

My lifetime warranty has nothing to do with items that require replacement due to wear and tear that you listed. I don't have to buy snake oil injector cleaning. Seriously? LOL I'm required to only have my oil changed and come in for the recommended service intervals and get hit up for the fluid change out. My dealer doesn't have to change my brake pads to keep me from voiding my warranty. Due diligence. Not a gimmick at all in my case.

Repair cost are skyrocketing on all makes of vehicles. Eventually, even an OEM extended warranty expires. So many referrals for Yota extended warranty's here for example. A lot. Nice to have something beyond that if offered. Things happen.

If you move every 3 to 5 years, then the Captain Obvious should kick in when signing the sales contract. This is not rocket science. I wasn't forced to accept my warranty. I'm not moving anywhere. No harm no foul. I try not to generalize and simply stick to my personal experience. SMH

Peppers Toyota in Paris Tennessee offers the lifetime powertrain warranty. Awesome dealership and bought my last two vehicles there. Highly recommend them, no games and no pressure. Plus during the craziness they sold at msrp.

All the family dealers round me have sold out. The big dealership groups come in offering 8 digit offers for a decent dealership. Everybody has a price particularly the generations after pops dies

Think Uber drivers. The dealership that offered the lifetime warranty around here also sold a one price vehicle, maintenance, and insurance bundle to rent share driver's. Covered like 250k miles
