I don't have any experience with G57's but I have J59's on my Tacoma and they're alright. If you get G57's, get the poly bushings.

I looked into them long ago but what steered me away was losing the ability to carry weight. If I can't use my truck to do truck shit then I might as well have bought a jeep. If my truck was an off road only toy I would go for the spring under setup instead for more travel and less axle wrap.

I went to Alcan and had a custom set made. 2" of lift, plenty of travel, and I can carry whatever I need still without riding the bump stops.

Deaver can custom make springs for you too.

I just got a new pair of G57 springs I’m going to not install and sell locally for the exact reason stated above. I didn’t understand they were so light duty until after reading more about them. (That was my bad though) I’m sure they’d be super fun off road without any weight in the truck but Deaver said my 300lb cap alone will kill them rapidly. Going to now go with Alcan customs but will have to wait a long time unfortunately. I just don’t personally understand why anyone would want a truck if they can’t use the bed!

Maybe add airbags in the rear? I'll make the ride super nice.

Ehh, with his cap alone he would be running the bags full time. That's a permanent bandaid.

Those springs are really a strange idea, not enough travel for long travel and not enough strength to carry anything. It's like if you wanted a full time(empty) off road stock travel truck.

I thought about it but I agree then I’d be on the bags all the time. Though about sumosprings as well but kinda same deal there I guess.

they will make them as strong as you want.

I had deavers on my taco and would do it again 10/10.

just have them custom make it, it’s not much a difference usually then the regular price.

Yes, though Deaver customs are booked out around 12 weeks and I’ve found their customer service generally poor. If I go custom I’ll go Alcan. Deaver makes solid stuff and I’m sure their customer service is better if you’re local to SoCal.

12 weeks is a wait, but I've found that with a lot these days...

Alcan I've heard great stuff, never tried them as I've only once done a full replacement. I bought mine non-custom because I didn't need them to be, so it was a lot smoother dealing with headstrong offroad only.

hey guys, I bought and installed G57's, unknowingly they have no load support. I have a vista shell and no other weight in the back, except when I camp. they are really dang soft. I'm thinking of going back to stock with an AAL from Toytec (to replace broken AAL from previous owner). Am I overlooking something?
any suggestions would be much appreciated

If you already have deavers, before you mod your stockers, call deaver and discuss your loads. He can probably recommend a change to your deaver pack that will work better than oem

From what I’ve read, it’s not easy to do a spring under on 1st gens. I’m not to familiar with the g57s
