I just bought a 2024 Tundra Limited with TRD Off Road package and am trying to decide on which boards to get. I am between the Go Rhino RB20 Slim or the TRD running boards. Any suggestions about which one may be better? Thanks!Tundra.jpg

I like the power ones, there when you need them, tucked away when you don't

I have the OEM ones, but they do make aftermarket ones.

    good luck!

Toyota also makes the predator steps, which are pretty nice. A little more rugged/sporty looking than running boards. Looks nice with the TRD OR package, IMO.

I have the TRD running boards. My favorite ones I have ever had for looks and function. I am a big boy and no issues which I can't say for other ones.

The only draw back with texture is if you get something sticky in them a pain to clean. Got some cement splatter on one and tedious to get off

I'll second BB on this, I prefer the OEM for sure. They tuck up nice, neat and clean looking with plenty of clearance.
I like the fact that on deployment if it detects a curb a rock or an obstruction they "automagically" retract.
Plus under warranty it's a no brainer.

Congrats OP nice color and all the best Dude with your new Rig!

I like the N-Fab rkr rails with the steps. These are still not a slider they do not bol20240410_194030.jpg t to the frame. I think they look great and do not give off the old man vibe that running boards give.

Yeah, they do look good. I feel that normal running boards make it look kinda like grandpa's truck, lol. I had a 1794 with the power running boards as a loaner for a while as well. I hated those damn things. Looks aside, they swing out too far and I just kept banging my shins on them when loading/unloading shit out of the cab.

Yes…I found that out on my 22 when my kids mis-stepped a few times and I had severely bruised shins to show for it.

I went for the Go Rhino slims on this current truck (24)…it was those or the TRD but a combination of not wanting to drop another $1K, the fact that I had Rhinos before on my 2015 and liked them ultimately were the deciding factors.

The Rhino slims bracket on the underside does droop lower that the TRD’s however…about another 2/3 of an inch but not enough to bother what I need them for.

Go Rhino lights at night and has an override button so you can get closer to truck when detailing or unloading things in the back seat! I once had the factory ones but they stick out a little to much for me.

I am leaning toward the slims. Does it stick out enough to stop possible door dings?

not at all rock sliders....they bolt to the body and are thin..I do like mine though, but don't try and give the impression they are not quite rock sliders. They are steps and are pretty good and I agree that they don't have anything hanging down, but definitely would be body damage multipliers in the event you ran them into a rock.

Sweet ride! The Go Rhino RB20 Slim Running Boards will be a great match for your new Tundra! I imagine the 5.5" wide step would help to prevent door dings from vehicles that sit lower than your Tundra. If you have any questions about these steps, feel free to PM me or email. I can get you a pricing quote, check availability, and ensure a perfect fit!

I have had these for almost a year and love the look and they extend just enough to help prevent door dings.

I started with the Go Rhino RB20 slims, but I gave them to my son after I located a set of used TRD boards for my truck. The Rhinos were good, solid boards. I have a lift and some extra offset on the wheels, so they did not stick out far enough to prevent a door ding, which luckily I haven't gotten yet. The issue I have with the Rhinos is, the boards I got did not have a very grippy coating on them. So I envision slipping on them in inclement weather. But they look good and served me well for the last 8 months.

The TRD boards are almost too grippy. I wear flip flops a lot here in Phoenix, and I swear these boards are going to tear one in half one day. You put your foot down and the flip flop doesn't move with your foot as you pivot. They also don't stick out far enough to prevent a door ding on my truck, but I like the look better. Tougher looking, IMO. I also think Toyota mounts them backwards. When I had F150s, I put Raptor boards on mine, with the slim part of the board to the back of truck. But Toyota has the slim part at the front, which to me, looks weird, but here we are.

If I had the money, the electric boards would've been my preferred choice. But I'm poor, so I just get to watch others play the rich guy game. Maybe if Trump gets elected, I'll have the funds to upgrade?

Someone mentioned the "Old Man Vibe" that standard style running boards give off.

Great product review! You covered a lot of common questions and concerns, and gave a very real and honest perspective. The RB20 Running Boards look amazing on your Tundra!

I love my OEM power boards but I have hit my shins many times. Oddly, 99% of time it's only been while on the passenger side getting something. My brain protects me on my side, not the passenger side. One of the main reasons I have the Platinum is because of those power running boards. Wife wanted them and who am I to argue.
