Okay so I have the Tundra pictured on my profile lol, but I'm considering deleting the cats to get that little clap in the exhaust... Has anyone deleted them before and what did y'all do with the o2 sensors? Just cut em off or put them in the straight pipe or what? I've heard from buddies (not Tundra owners) that they just get an engine code in the winter but nothing in the summers... is that true for us too?

Ive got those anti fouler spacers on the rear o2’s on my titan.

but it gets tricky since you have vvti. Mo’ nannies, mo’ problems.

but if your county puts a sniffer on it, you’ll be in the doodoo.

Ahh, yeah that's unfortunate. I guess I could just unplug them and see what happens

With the cats and o2’s in, get everything warm and running and measure the resistance of the o2’s and use a resistor. Could keep the computer from going super rich.

And drive by wire… vvti engines are officially out of my league. Disregard my nonsense.

My wife's V8 4Runner has the cats deleted when I got long tubes for it. URD makes an O2 Simulator which is what I used, never had a code and runs great.

Ah okay gotcha, I'll meter em out and then try the resistors with the sensors still in - just unplugged - and make sure she still runs right before I chop the cats off

It might be trickier than that. My titan and jeep are dumber than the vvti toyotas.

When they stole my cats and o2 sensors the truck went into limp mode. Couldn’t go over 10mph. Had to tow it home

tried driving it home with the music up and nope.

Rear o2 sensors won’t affect vehicle running, they’re just there for catalyst readings. The front sensors run the engine. Removal of the cats won’t affect the operation of the front sensors. Simulating the rears will prevent the check engine light and it’ll run like it always has

Those have to stay on. So test pipe and weld a bung in or just cut the cats and have pipe welded after the sensors

No front sensors in the manifolds?

On these trucks they’re on the pipe the cats welded to. The manifolds are cast. Not enough room to fit a sensor on them the way they’re madd

Yea I’m dumb. Ignore that. It’s on the manifold. I’m thinking of different engines again

Oh, ignore what I was saying about the URD simulator then, that'll only fix the post cat sensors. The pre cat sensors you need to measure AFR so the engine can run correctly. Since you'll have a new exhaust anyways, just weld a bung in and screw them back in. No reason to try and fake those ones, plus the truck will probably run like ass if you try to fool it.

But I would recommend faking the rears still. A constant check engine light is a bad thing. Because now you don’t know if new more important codes have popped up

Yes, definitely agree. So get the URD to fake the rears, but keep the fronts installed even if you have to weld a bung on :D

Sorry the only thing I could think of when you said exhaust clap.

2:45 for them boys clap’n and hit’n the box. If you have people jump in the bed, it makes the exhaust louder.

I agree. I need to hear some feedback. I wonder why URD took theirs off their website.
