Has anyone owned the Pro then upgraded to Max? Just curious if the max is worth the extra $. Or does anyone prefer one over the other?

I have the PRO on my wife's Honda Pilot and MAX on the Tundra, being different vehicle, I think it is not a fair comparison.
But I do love the MAX output on the Tundra, but be warned, it does put your headlight to shame..... unless you have something that's not original, then you should be good.
But if the MAX price does scare you, the PRO is very good and should be sufficient enough for your daily usage, unless you drive in the middle of nowhere, but then you should have other issues to think about than just the fog light....

I have the SS3 Fog Max, worth the money!!
I’ve been flashed a few times but if you have angle them down enough you won’t get too many complaints.

Nope. None. And if for the record, I have the older gen that Colton took of his, so no aiming issue there.

Had both, will be buying the Pros a second time.

Sold the Pros for the Maxes and then the Maxes when I sold my last truck. Max has a much fuller beam with cleaner cutoff, but it wasnt worth the extra cash over the Pros. YMMV

I will say this, in addition to @Elduder , if you just want to improve over the OEM fog lights, PRO will blast it out of the solar system for sure.
MAX is more for those that want to buy once cry once and enjoy the show. Granted, I do think MAX is an overkill, but you never know.
@memario1214 has some on sale for BF sale so you might want to pull the trigger soon.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    this.

I use the Pro for daily driving in Houston. no problems. and they are brighter than the LED headlights. makes for safer driving.

I have them angled down & they are perfect.

@Robster80 here's the best way I can explain it... as succinctly as possible, but I almost assuredly will over-explain here!

Pros are the best all-arounder IMO if you are going with yellow. They provide an exceptionally powerful beam with excellent width and far greater raw output than stock. Due to their softer upward gradient they almost act as a bit of an "offroad" light because they have a little more light bleed than the Max above the hotspot. They still are excellent at staying low and cutting through the poor visibility scenarios too.

However, if you are planning on running them 24/7 on the street that softer uplight does make it so that the beam is going to be more impactful to oncoming traffic than even the Max. Is it bad? No. Are the pros actually going to appear "brighter" to joe blow meeting you in his Civic? In most cases yes.

Now why did I say that the pros are the best all-arounder in yellow? That is due to the emitter colors and the performance improvements going from pro to max. I won't get into detail unless you need me to, but in order to get the right output color temperature the maxes in yellow need a darker lens to filter the light. As a result, the performance improvement jump from pro to max is smaller on the yellows than it is on the white.

As said above we are having a sale on them as well if you wanted to jump in on them at the best price we have ever had on them!

Thanks for responses everyone. Ive actually got a new set of the Pros. I had some issues installing and i returned and was sent a new set so i was sorta debating on installing them or selling them and getting the Pros on a black friday sale. But based on your responses im leaning towards just keeping these and installing.

@memario1214 - my in-laws are moving out into the countryside as they approach retirement, so I've been looking at upgrading my lighting setup. I was originally thinking of going with a 30" in-valence lightbar, but I'm now starting to think that maybe upgrading the fogs first (and then reassessing later) would be a better path forward.

My use case would essentially be trying to get max illumination for deer going ~45 mph. Definitely going to go white for max output - would the max fog or max driving be better for me?

    Sorry Robster for hijacking!

If you're looking for deer identification at highway or paved backroad speed the fog pattern is not really the move. It simply doesn't reach out far enough to alert you to something quick enough.

My .02 is that if you're looking to identify deer at speed then capturing the 30% off deal that we're offering right now on the light bar is going to be your best bang for the buck. Probably in a combo pattern. If you need to be able to see when the conditions are less than ideal then the fogs simply can't be beat.

Circling around fully if you just want to replace your OEM fog lights with something that will allow you to better identify bambi then I would probably go with white max in a combo. We would have to custom-spec you out a kit as it isn't something you can just buy off the shelf, but it would get you some down-range reach + some near and mid-range fill support until you decide to add more goodies.

I can vouch for the ss3 pro driving pattern is super bright!have them on ditch brackets. Got them from @memario1214. Great customer service. I also have aftermarket led bulbs for headlights from lasfit, the ss3 pros are just as bright as my headlights.
