Anyone have any experience with Dobinson spring and suspension? A local off road shop recommended them for me and frankly the pricing is great to meet my needs.

A shop up in Baltimore recommended them to me. I just did not have the money at the time and now I am just looking into modest upgrade. I was told the Dobinson kit we were looking at would be on par with the TRD Pro. I am not an expert just relaying what I was told.

    No problem.

I'd probably just go from the past 2 years ago to now. There were some shady weirdos in there several years back that didn't know how to use a tape measure, so that thread got really corrupted there for a bit.

I haven't run them on either of my Tundras, but I started with their basic twin tube setup on my 4runner and eventually upgraded to their MRA setup. I also use their end links, bump stops, rear lower control arms, and panhard rod. Great company, quality product, excellent pricing..

My 4runner build is here if this is helpful at all: https://www.tundras.com/threads/mrs-backsliders-2017-4runner-sr5-premium-build.68196/

Is there a real benefit for using their control arms, end links etc? Over just using the shocks? I would love to get a roof tent for my bed rack one day but honestly what I really use the truck for is getting to launch sites for my kayaks, hauling my buccaneer and laser sail boats. Extra parts, repair items etc.

It depends on your use case and how high you're lifting. I needed extended/adjustable end links and rear lower control arms. Panhard bar is adjustable and allowed me to get a lot of rear lift while maintaining factory geometry.

Thanks. You really should check out Dobinson's stuff. It's a great alternative for some of the more popular brands, and in some cases I think a much better quality product (don't even get me started on Icon's garbage). I personally like the yellow and teal but if it's not your thing they do offer other colors as well.

Are the Dobinson's springs, UCA's etc. much better then stock tundras? Would I get benefit just replacing the shocks with dobinsons for money saving, or is it best to do the whole package?

I’ve had my MRR’s on a little over a year and I love them!

I think it just depends on the mileage you have on your current shocks and if you feel they're worn out. Also, if you're hitting the trails and feeling that the stock ones aren't supporting the truck well enough, an upgrade would be a good idea.

We sell just shocks all the time to people wanting to freshen up the ride without changing the lift height. Shocks are link brake pads, they wear out over time and need to be replaced, but the other parts are generally good for the life of the vehicle.

Dobinsons twin tube struts and shocks can be run with stock coils and stock leaf springs.
The IMS are a little too long up front. And the MRA's use a different coil design for the 2nd gen Tundras.
