This is the truck i'm looking at buying. I know it has the hitch and also tow/haul button and also brake controller. But does it have a full on tow package? I can't find any info that it has the oil and trans cooler from the factory. Would the oil and trans cooler be standard with the 5.7? I also dont see anything stating it has the larger alternator or the heavy duty battery. Thanks for any info------->https://www.koonstoyotatysonscorner...virginia-2837f25b0a0e0ae8307c0e357ca6b297.htm

I'm pretty positive that all 5.7's have the tow package.

I was thinking same thing, but I just cant find the info listed anywhere. The dealer is 3 hours from me or I would check it out myself before leaving deposit over phone. Salesman says it has it but I just wanna see it in the build sheet.

You'll have to see if they can get a build sheet for you. The sales department may not actually know what that is though. The transmission cooler is part of the towing package, I'm not sure about a larger battery and alternator though, they may be part of a cold weather package. I'm not sure on the newer ones.

Tranny temp gauge would be nice...even if it is a dummy gauge

a trans temp gauge is defiantly something i'm missing on my Tacoma. Thinking I could always get a scan gauge if they make them for the new tundras. The tacoma pulls our camper but we want to start going on longer hauls and doing some exploring in the mountains. I wouldnt put my tacoma through this task. Thats why were getting the Tundra with the 5.7 The truck we picked out isnt very flashy but it has everything we need for towing our small toy hauler. I figure I can always add some badges later and some other things to set off the look. The small toy hauler weighs 4,000# max loaded. So we will be less then half of the capacity of what the tundra can do of 9,800# should be a great combo

Yeah, the 5.7 will tow that without breaking a sweat.

we were originally looking at the 4.6...But then we found out that it was rated at 6,800# max tow...That didnt make much sense to me being my tacoma with trd tow pkg can do 6,500# max. So we figured just in case we ever want to get a larger camper in the future,we will be set

Good choice. I've never met anyone with a 5.7 who regrets their decision. The upgraded coolers, alternator, and larger ring gear are worth the extra $ alone.

Talked the wife in keeping our 05 tacoma...only has 67,000 miles on it. We bought it new and have really taken care of it. It even has a new frame under it...:yay: My wifes gonna drive it and I will take the tundra to work

Dealer emailed me the build sheet. It does have the factory tow package with 4.30 rear. and trans and oil cooler. I cant believe the tundra cost only $5,000 more then my trd sport tacoma did back in 2005.

It's probably 5k cheaper than a new Tacoma TRD sport now.

I just found out toyota doesn't make the Tundra SR work truck package in double cab short bed with 5.7....I don't know what to do now...I really dont like the look of the long bed. I guess I will have to skip the work truck pkg. I really loved the vinyl coated flooring idea...I was gonna get wet okle seat covers for the front vinyl seats. Any thoughts on what pkg to look for? I was loving the low price for sure..thanks for any help deciding
