Folks, I have a 2020 Tundra that is at 27K miles but over the 3 years for the base warranty. I just started hearing what I think is a front wheel bearing failure. Does anyone know if the 5 year/60K mile warranty covers the front wheel bearings? I'd like to be armed with this before heading to the dealership. I'm at 3 months over the 36 month coverage where I know for sure the bearings would be covered. Thanks for the help.

If not corporate may work with you since you are just over on time and below mileage. Honda was very good about this and my guess is Toyota will be too.

No chance the powertrain will cover it but unless your running spacers with 35's + tires I can't see a reason Toyota wouldn't help at least partially with this. 27K is insanely low for a wheel bearing. Not to doubt your diagnosis but again 27K is mindboggling low for our Tundra wheel bearings which makes me think it's something else.

All stock truck. It looks like it may be the front differential needle bearing failure. I agree, 27k miles is mind-boggling low. However, our 2015 Toyota Highlander, also bone stock, had a wheel bearing failure at almost the same mileage and less than 3 years. Lucky for us, warranty covered it.

I had my wheel bearing swapped out on my 2012 tundra at 55k. The CPO warranty covered it. Come to find out the driver side needle bearing was going out. They did some more research and recommended I do the ECGS bushing, but wouldn't cover it but would install for 600.00. I told them "no thanks" and fix it under warranty. They swapped out the front differential for 2800.00. Not sure how that was a better deal, but not my money.

After the front diff was swapped, truck was never the same. Sold it at 89k miles.

    Edited. Thanks amigo.

They've determined the issue is the front differential needle bearing. So, at 29K miles that's really a premature issue for a bone stock truck. The good news is that it is all covered under warranty. I just hope it doesn't keep failing every 29K miles. Now, I think we caught this very early since you can barely hear the difference but it's definitely different. We'll see how the repair goes in a few weeks.

Good to hear that it'll be covered under the warranty. That's crazy to fail with only 29k, my 15 has right at 160k and has has a small lift for the last 45k and haven't had any issues. Good luck with getting it fixed up.

Folks, FYI, they replaced the front diff under warranty and the issue has been resolved. Hope it doesn’t come back once I’m out of warranty. My truck is bone stock, no off road, and nearly zero use of 4 wheel drive. Only engage 4 wheel drive per the manual recommendation for periodic maintenance.
