Does the SABM make the intake louder?

I did an airbox mod on a VW golf I had, and it was the best cheap mod I ever did. The intake resonated in the cabin and it made the gutless car so much more fun to drive.

Does the SABM do anything for sound? I'm not going to swap filters, or drop $400 on an aftermarket intake, not looking for magic HP or mileage...really just intake noise to make me feel good. Lol, I'm not putting aftermarket exhaust on either.

Installed for 3+ years, gave it some roar. As far as gains :notsure:. Better than spending $400 on one.

Do the SAMB and TRD airflow accelerator and top it off with and aFe dry pro filter. It might be a little louder.

I got worse mpg's with the aFe dry filter. It's for sale if anyone wants it.

I don’t see how that’s possible. It flows better than stock. I didn’t notice any difference in MPG’s.

I got a S&B CAI for $300 and that made a huge difference in sound. Way deeper growl above 2k rpm made the truck a lot more enjoyable to drive, and it did give a slight increase in MPG

Since I went back to paper filters, I don't have to press the gas as hard to accelerate from a stop. On the dash with the aFe filter, I was getting 9 mpg on the interstate. Switched to the paper and it shows 11. I'd maintain with dry filter cleaning solution.
