My 2022 tundra SR5 was bought with 5,000 miles on it. Within a month and putting about $1,500 mi on it I noticed a shutter at about 10 miles an hour.
    Especially while pulling any trailer.
Brought it to a dealership without trailer and had them test drive.
    They said something not right.
They took it in for a week and put a new torque converter in. Did not fix it.
I then brought it back and they replaced the transmission. That too did not fix it. Third attempt was to change all the fluids which again did not fix it.
Called and pled with manufacturer to help me, trade need for new truck or something.
They basically told me to kick rocks.
Apparently since it was bought it used I don't qualify for Florida lemon law, Even though the truck sure does.
So I drive it for another couple weeks call lawyers to see where I stand, and I guess I have a case for diminished value.
BUT! 2 weeks later I started it up in the drive to go to work it's a bad knock in engine sound.
Truck is in the shop getting a new engine installed. Been there a month and parts are still on order.
I'm not a happy Toyota owner.

@ColoradoTJ wanna add him to the running failures thread?

Sorry about your issues OP, it's always unfortunate to hear about someone buying what's essentially a new truck and having more trouble than I have had with my nigh-decade old one. Not your typical Toyota experience certainly.

Sorry to hear about troubles. There is a post for those that have experienced engine failures. You should add your details there.

Should have bought a 2.5 gen. I’m joking! I hate to hear that. One of my neighbors just bought a black gen3. It’s sharp

No shit, looking at the spec sheet tells me its not a low compression v8. And ripe with electrical bullshittery. Prolly tells the insurance company how heavy my shits were at gas stations. But yea, buy from the early 70's.

So, would this be a case of don't buy a 3rd gen, or question why someone traded in a truck with 5k on it?

Sorry for your experience. First year shake (down) out.

My boss bought a first year Ram redesign and had a mile of issues eventually addressed.

Adding the obligatory 2.5 is the best yadda yadda.

No trash talk here. Still love and enjoy my 2.5 gen and sure most love their 3rd gen (my brother seems to like his, we live far enough apart I haven't been in it yet). I'm happy you guys are taking on the task of shaking them down so they'll be all sorted by the time I'm ready to move on from the 2.5 gen. Would be nice if there were more reports of Toyota being responsive to issues and less combative. Imagine that depends a lot on the dealership and possibly even the regional vs corporate?

I didn’t spend the money to just swap out stuff.
No way in hell I’d buy a used vehicle so close to new mileage unless it was a steal. I don’t trust no nobody to break it in proper.

5K could have been a demo for all we know, I personally wouldn't read too much into that without knowing the trucks history.
