Open the door from the outside then look for the safety switch on the inside of the door.

    This.

It's funny, ours must have got flicked the other day when I was washing and waxing.

Pulled into the church parking lot today, unlocked doors, everyone for out except our 17y old stick inside. I had to open from outside. We looked and saw the child lock mechanism had been activated on the door.

First time it has ever happened to me. Then again, I've never really taken the time to wash and wax previous cars like I do this one, let alone the door area.
