I have a 2011 crewmax. Tonight on my way home from work my interior light came on and the dar ajar light on dash lit up. Then after a couple bumps it would go out, then on, then out all with that beep noise. Got home locked it with my fob. Couple hours later my alarm starts screaming. My keys are on the other side of the room. Grabbed them, pushed the unlock button, doors unlock and alarm stops. Currently it's locked manually and my interior lights are still on. Anybody experience this?

My car use to do this with an aftermarket alarm when the battery was dying it would just set it off at odd times... Might want to check the truck's battery.

This is not a common complaint here as a specific problem, but may be the root cause of other issues.

Sounds like you've already made a good diagnosis. Intermittent contact on bumpy road = loose connection and/or bad switch. One T30 torx screw to remove switch for testing. Start with the driver door switch since that's the one that's get the most use. You may find a problem with the connector first without even needing a multi-meter. Resistance across switch terminals with harness unplugged should be 10K+ ohms pushed in (door closed position), and less than 1 ohm not pushed in (door ajar position).

I was able to park it in my driveway after work without hitting any bumps so the door ajar light didn't come on. Hopped out, closed the door and hit the lock button. All quiet all night. I will test the switches this weekend. Stay tuned.

Buy a new driver side door switch, swap out be done with it. I replaced one on our 2010 4runner; knew it was the driver side because you could push the switch in with your finger and it wasn’t smooth, and would flicker the dome lights, so I knew it was a bad contact; after 100s of times closing the door it’s expected for something simple to fail

Was the door ajar switch the solution here? I'm having similar problems on my 2014.
