So this past week all the sudden my driver side window won't stay up when I hit auto up. It goes up hits the top then comes back down half way.
So I have to hit the button briefly up a bunch of times to try to get it as close to closed as possible without causing it to come back down.
    Anyone else having similar issues?
    I have a '18 crewmax limited.

I'll probably have to take it in this next week, it's super annoying. Plus it rains here like crazy lately eventually I won't be able to get it all the way up.

I have an 18 also and my button only automatically rolls down the window. I have to hold it to roll up. I thought this was the norm? If not I will take it to the dealership to get it fixed.

Something seems off. My 18 is auto up and down on the 2 fronts. I have a cm limited.

Depends on your trim level if you have auto up and down. SR5's only have auto down. Limited and platinum have auto up and down.

Im thinking perhaps the tracks might be a little off so it felt too much tension and automatically roll back.

Thanks for letting me know. I don't see why they wouldn't just have auto up and down for all trim levels. I mean will it really cost them anything?

Wondered the same thing for years. My wife's 2012 Camry LE has auto up and down but not my Tundra.

Yes I think so too...def not happy about it, luckily no leaks so far.
My 08 had no problems at all for 10 yrs. (Compared to this one with multiple TSS problems and this issue in 2 months of ownership)...will post an update after I take it in.

THIS IS WHAT I FOUND IN THE OWNERS MANUAL FOR MY 2018 CREWMAX I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU ■When the power window does not close normally (type B only) If the jam protection function is operating abnormally and a window cannot be closed, perform the following operations using the power window switch on the relevant door. ●After stopping the vehicle, the window can be closed by holding the power window switch in the one-touch closing position while the engine switch is turned to the “ON” position. ●If the window still cannot be closed even by carrying out the operation as explained above, initialize the function by performing the following procedure. Hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing position. Continue holding the switch for a further 6 seconds after the window has closed. Hold the power window switch in the one-touch opening position. Continue holding the switch for a further 2 seconds after the window has opened completely. Hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing position once again. Continue holding the switch for a further 2 seconds after the window has closed. If you release the switch while the window is moving, start again from the beginning. If the window continues to close but then re-open slightly even after performing the above procedure correctly, have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer. 1

Did you try resetting the window parameter by rolling it all the way down holding the button, keep holding it down for 5 seconds. Then roll all the way up holding the button the whole time and keep holding it 5 seconds after it stops.

I have a 2018 crewmax limited. Mine works the same as yours, Auto down, but I have to hold the button to let the window come all the way up.

Thanks who would have thought you need to consult the owners manual to roll up a window!
My guess is they use similar power window components across multiple vehicles needing different calibrations.
I just tried this and so far it worked (weird thing is auto up worked first time during the 1st calibration step).
But hopefully all good now...maybe I somehow reset the calibration somehow inadvertently.
Thanks for sharing this next time any issue will check the manual.

I’m glad the 18 limited has auto up and down on the 2 fronts. It’s on my list of non negotiable features to have auto up and down all around, I had to waiver the missing 2. It’s stupid that here we are in 2018 and basic crap is not available in all cars.

Anyone know if you swap out the switch with the ones that have auto up, would that work? Is there more to it?

I own a 2018 limited it comes stock with the drivers side down auto only. To get the added feature of auto up and down you have to get the "Limited Premium Package" an $1850.00 extra.

dont know if the difference rests solely on the switch panel or if it requires a different bcm or just coding the existing bcm to let it know where to do auto up and down.

maybe @Roman or anyone with parts access can shed some light by looking up the pn for the bcm between the trims using the limited and limited w/premium as a base line.

if the pn is the same for both bcm's then its a coding deal and you would have to have the right switch panel and have it coded in the bcm for it to function properly.

do you guys with the platinums and 1794s have all windows auto up and down or just the front 2?

Just think, years ago we had to actually grab a knob and hand crack all windows up and down, OMG how did we survive! Lmao!

Yeah man... those were individual body control modules. The driver would control which body in a seat would open n close or adjust the windows.
