Having problems setting the memory position for the drivers seat. Followed the procedure in the manual and it will work a time or two then stop working all together. The seat will retract when I turn the engine off but will not reposition when I get back into the truck and start the engine. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I had the same problem. Make sure you go into the screen settings and link your key to you profile. If that's been done, then the seat neats to be calibrated sorta. Move the seat, all the way forward to max, then all the way back to max. Move the seat back all the way forward to max, then all the way back to max. This fixed my problem, after a month of losing my mind. This process is supposed to be done at the factory, or dealer, but sometimes it doesn't happen. Let me know if it works.

No. I'm waiting until my 5000 mile service to have the dealer look at it. Are you having a similar problem?

No, I think my seats are good. Still getting use to the tech and I seem to fidget with the settings each time I am in the truck.

Same here. Garbage. Can't wait until they get hit with a lawsuit because the steering wheel was too far away for someone to reach it causing a crash.

The steering wheel pulls out if u try to move it up and down. Also my seat works fine lol I did was set up the key and then set the chair old set then hold number one til he dings. Also on the stereo u can set it up to push the chair all the way back when u turn the truck off

Ok - this annoyed me for weeks now and finally figured out the real solve to this via a youtube video about another Toyota model. Essentially the seats were not 'prepped' at the dealer and should do the following:

    1. Run front seat all the way forward
    2. Run seat all the way backward
    3. Run seat all the way up
    4. Run seat all the way down

Then set location of your preference. Press SET. Press #1 or #2 as you prefer.

Seems basic, I know. It seems this creates boundaries of the seat in space for the computer to then memorize your preferred location. I followed the manual probably 50 times to no avail - not realizing this set up should have already been completed prior to delivery.

Also, don't forget about the 'half' or 'full' setting for the seat to pull back upon stopping of - this is in the settings via the steering wheel.

Hope this helps others as it's a neat feature and was really frustrated myself.

Yeah - that tilting mirror feature is cool on its own and didn't realize how it worked until learning about it on this forum. Really nice to turn off as well in case you need more visibility when backing up.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I've had the truck for 4 days and I kept setting it and it would work until I came back to it after it being off for a while. When I pressed the memory seat button only the steering wheel would adjust. I'm pretty sure this fixed it because now the button recalls everything. I thought I was going to have to go back the dealer. I guess my dealer didn't go through everything when setting up the truck, because I noticed the tire pressure was 44psi also, which probably should have been lowered down to the recommended 35psi before I took delivery as well.

44-46 psi is truck carrier setting.

Thanks guys fornthe thread and responses. Like some other himes and warnings, I had accepted this beep as my destiny and was annoyed with seats not moving back to its memory position.

I followed the steps on the thread an now ... Beep is gone and the memory function works as well!!

    THANK YOU!

PS- This came right on time as well, doing Iowa to NY trip this weekend as well!

I must have a good dealership. When i took delivery they showed me how to set the seat and it worked the first time. The side mirrors tilting when put into reverse is pretty awsome.

Sorry for the late response ... had exactly the same problem ... took in in for service ... they found that the seats had not been 'initiated' before delivery. Not sure who should have done it .. factory or Dealer ... but after they did their thing ... fixed.

Hi all — had this same issue on my 2023 Tundra Platinum. The seating needed to be reset prior to me setting the memory. Here is a great tutorial video for resetting Toyota seats... it worked on mine and is a bit more thorough than the other videos I found on the subject. Try resetting your seats prior to doing what the Owners Manual says to set the memory. Here is how I reset my seats:

I have a pro and have not been able to get my seat to recall using the buttons after my wife drives it. I turned off the easy in and out feature because I felt I did not need it. I am going to try this, front, back, up, down, thing this weekend and see if it works. Ill report back. Thanks to all who have helped.

Still gotta try this but hope this works. Been driving me crazy trying to figure this seat out. Is it just me seeing the written instructions, but this kinda took me back to up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B,A, B, A, select, start.

This video was legit! This is coming from someone that hates YouTube videos.

    In a nutshell:
    • Ignition ON.
    • Seat all the way forward. Hold button for one second after seat travel reached.
    • Seat all the way backward. Hold button one second.
    • Seat all the way up. Hold button for one second.
    • Seat all the way down. Hold button for one second.
    • Seat recliner all the way forward. Hold button for one second.
    • Seat recliner all the way backward. Hold button for one second.
    • Adjust Seat how you want it. Press SET button, then "1" or "2" within 3 seconds.
You should be good to go! And that's the video content. It worked for me! Thanks for posting it.

Tossing a dumb question in here. Where are the seat memory buttons at on the 3rd gen? My SR5 appears to be lacking this feature which is something I just now noticed and now I regret not getting a higher trim level. Wondering if it can be added after the fact.

they are on the drivers door. the cost of the replacement door panel, guts and then the seat replacement is going to be hella $$$ if you go oem. not to mention the wiring.

I am in the same boat... have all the option packages for my SR5 and was more than a little surprised at this omission, TBH. I looked briefly into retrofitting this and the switch assembly is only ~ $90, but you also need a very $$ seat computer... and I am not sure that the necessary wiring and connectors are present in the door panel and under the seat to connect to in the first place. I am hoping someone who has access to the real schematics can suss this out for sure or that someone else (besides me!) takes one for the team and tries it.
