What's the secret method to getting this panel to clip back in? I can see the parts behind that need to line up, but no matter which way I hold my mouth, it's doesn't stay.

    Too many, but not enough....
If you take it off there should be a white pin that slips into a pocket on the panel that gets pushed into the hole on the frame. It is a bitch as it took me a couple tries as well.

Check the build link in my signature.
remove the upper white pin and connect it into the trim piece. The lower one can stay in the body of the truck.
Line things up and skip the lower part of the trim over the pin then pop the upper pin into the hole in the body.

Appreciate it, I'll give it a go.

Also, having the picture in the post a million times helps as well right (I'll try to fix it)??

The only thing that might be in the way may be a white ground wire, just move it off to the side and you should be able to slide it right in and hear a pop sound. That’s when it has seated.

I'm sure you probably have already figured out how to get the kick panel back on by now but for anyone else that maybe wondering how to do this it isn't hard. The key is that there are two plastic clipy things that attach to the back of the kick panel that often get left in the body of the truck when removing the kick panel. Those have to be pried out of the body and put back on the kick panel. They fit into slots in the panel and are angled forward. It is important that they are put back in facing the right direction, that being forward. Once you have the clippy things attached to the kick panel it will go back on with minimal effort. I have had mine off many times while installing a new sound system in my Tundra.

Mine was that way from the dealer. They had put some kind of dealer anti-theft device in there with some wire splices. When I put it on so it wasn't loose one of the wires broke a couple days later and the truck wouldn't start any more. It was a real pain because the closest dealer wasn't the same as I bought it from and they wanted to charge me to figure out what was wrong.

That anti theft device put there by the dealer is likely a kill switch that dealers that carry their own paper put on financed vehicles so they can remotely turn off the vehicle and locate it through GPS if you stop paying your payments.

That was the key! Appreciate it. Once you have the clips on the panel, it slots right on.

I know this is an old post but I didn’t want to create a new thread for a simple question.

Does anyone have the part number for the clips?

    Thank you

Thanks but I am looking for the white angled plugs that connect the lower panel as seen in post 11.

Damn this forum is awesome... I've been dealing with this for awhile now and just searched Google for the clip PN's.

This thread was the the second response. I picked up new clips oday and my panel is now seated flush again
