Wondering if anyone else is experiencing what I am.

I took delivery of my MY2020 Tundra TRD Sport in July of last year. Shortly after I noticed a rattle coming from the drivers side door speaker. Any music that has a hint of bass sets it off and the only way to rectify it is to hold your knee against the door.

During my first oil change at 5k miles the dealership said they couldn't reproduce it.

I brought it up again at my 10k service last week and this time I got a different answer. They told me that they did hear the noise and that this is common on the 2020 Tundra's. They said Toyota hasn't issued a service bulletin for it yet so they aren't able to fix it. Their solution was for me to go buy DynaMat and install it myself. I escalated it to the service manager but got the same response.

Has anyone else experienced either a similar issue and/or the line I heard from the dealership near me in Maryland?

I've experienced a similar issue; but my dealership fixed it no issues. I'd call corporate on this one.

That’s a lazy/incompetent dealer. If you have the option, find another dealer.

I have this on my 2017 and I figured it was a blown speaker. I'll have to open it up and see what I can do to fix it.

I think the new dealer is the ticket. These guys suck. If you know of a good dealer in Maryland/DC let me know.

Find another dealer and if you find yourself having to deal with your current dealer, keep records and ask the manager if hes heard of Magnuson Moss :D

Open up a case with Toyota and tell them what the dealership told you to do.

Quick update. I opened a case with Toyota and they were shocked the dealer told me to fix the rattle myself.

They ended up calling the service manager and he gave them a huge line of BS saying that they were never able to replicate my issue and that it was likely because I was listening to music at an excessive level. Utter nonsense and the opposite of what I was told when I was there.

Toyota corporate said there isn’t much else they can do for me. I told them I won’t be going back to Antwerpen Toyota in Clarksville, MD anymore. They are sleaze balls with horrible service.

    * thanks for letting me vent a bit! Lol

I would ask Toyota corp, since you now have their ear, to recommend another dealer close to you to work with. Let corporate pave the path so the repair can be handled.

    Funny you mention that…

I did ask and they said they don’t keep records of dealer performance. I even asked if they do dealer awards or anything. I’m in a major metro area (Baltimore/DC) so probably have 15 to choose from.
