In the next few days I am purchasing Durobumps for the front of my 2020. I currently have .5 thick Coachbuilder top hat spacers that provides about an inch of lift (driver/passenger side). I want to install the Duro’s to get A better dampening and B stop my shock from potentially bottoming out and breaking.

I emailed Durobump who recommended a 1/2 inch spacer.

I was going to purchase a fat aluminum spacer?.?. Or should I stick with steel or something else… I just want it to be strong enough to absorb the forces and not corrode terribly in NY winters.

It's a spacer in pure compression, it could be made out of plastic and probably be fine. I would do aluminum or stainless steel. It could literally be stacked washers even.
