I recently noticed the option for E15 at the gas station and was curious if there were any pros or cons to using for the Toyota Tundra. I currently have a 2014 Tundra. Any input would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks in Advance

This is what the manual for my 2014 says about fuel:

I’m working on the assumption that there will be *some* gas without the extra ethanol, maybe Premium since that costs more anyway (and I’m unsure how Turbo/Supercharged vehicles will deal with the extra ethanol).

I've seen the E15 before but never tried any. The octane rating is lower than regular. Not common but it has been available at some stations but only in the winter months. The E15 causes more smog so it was not used year round.

Any gas with ethanol has less energy than pure gasoline. Plus , the alcohol attracts water. Use it if you like.

all what has been said, ethanol is hydrophilic (attracts water), the higher the ethanol content the lower the energy density of petrol, and can cause issues with motors that are carburated. I would 1) follow your owners manual and use as guided; 2) if you have a FFV (Flex Fuel Vehicle) then you would be "ok" to use; 3) your MPG will go down using higher ethanol content in your gasoline.

Me personally I have a FFV tundra, own motorcycles, and small motors - I will always buy ethanol free where available for all these motors and never anything higher than E10 (which is now standard). M2C
