I have the EBC turned off in my settings, and I rarely use it. This past Holiday weekend, I received several warning messages about failure of the 4WD system. Three messages in the center display, and on two flashing of orange lights on the dash for the 4WD system. The vehicle was in 2WD all times these showed up and went away. None stayed on for then a count of three. The messages remained in the display memory and I brought the truck to the Dealer this AM. I have 11K miles on the truck. After speaking withe technician, he verified the following:

Yes the center display had messages, no the ECU did not have retained error codes or anything presently wrong.

The Recall for the EBC has been causing several warning lights to flash and notify the driver, and all are believed to be related to the recall of the flashing of the ECU. I'm posting this, as I searched over the weekend for 4WD failure and had not seen any postings. Many for the EBC message, none for the 4WD messages. I do believe they are all tied to each other, like the old VSC, ABS warnings that were all a brake switch relay back in the day and would make your dash light up like a Christmas Tree.
