Has anyone run the eibach adjustable shocks with OME springs together? I'd prefer Bilsteins but they are backordered for months and one of my shocks kicked the bucket. I've got a bone stock 2006 2wd DC that I'm looking to level with 1.5"-2" of front lift.

When I purchased my Eibach adjustable shocks for my 4Runner, they made it very clear to run it with OEM coils or their coils. When I called them they said some aftermarket coils are too stiff for their shock valving. But I believe Bilstein would say the same thing...

Side note: The Eibach has a much better ride quality IMHO.

Are you meaning stock OEM springs or the after market OME (old man emu) springs?

After market OME, most likely 2885 spring. Good to clarify. Took me a while on this board to realize that OME was old man emu and not another way to say OEM.

I hadn't considered the valving being different for Eibach. If I'm not mistaken Eibach are progressive, the opposite of Bilstein.

Push comes to shove I could re-use the original springs with the eibach shocks, but for the same amount of work I'm hoping to update the springs while I'm at it.

Being that you have a 2006, I would personally put new coils in regardless. I have had not good luck with aftermarket coils. I prefer OEM coils with an adjustable shock. Closet ride to stock but I never did any real off-roading. Just rough dirt paths and such.

I have used OME 883 with Bilstein 5100’s on a 2003 Tacoma with an ARB bumper. That setup was horrendous. My Dad’s 1986 R series Mack that I drove every summer in-between college rode nicer.

Well OME springs are heavy duty, even the lighter springs. About 10% stiffer than stock. So, I would use the matching OME shocks. BTW, I run an OME lift on my 4runner and love it.

Anyway, I would be concerned that eibach or even 5100s would be valved to light to work well with the heavier OME spring rate. May be ok at first but those shocks could have to work much harder to control the heavier springs- sloppier handling and possibly wear out faster.

I can tell you the OME shocks (nitrochargers) are quite beefy. I have had the suspension on my 4runner for maybe 5 years and about 60k miles and it feels like new. I would spend the $ to do any suspension mods correctly the first time, will be cheaper in the long run and you will be happier. The OME suspension is priced reasonably compared to what else is out there and they make stout components. No height adjustments or tweaks needed, OME is an install and forget it suspension and works very well. I have run their suspensions on a few 4x4s.

Dobson makes similar springs/shocks, about 2 inch lift so a little less lift than OME. With Dobson's lower height, no UCA changes are needed. OME suspensions tend to run higher than advertised- .25 to .5 inch higher than listed, so their 2.5 inch lift is closer to 3 inches. That of course can depend on which springs you get (3 versions) and if you run a heavy front bumper and/or winch.

You will be happier in the long run getting items in a package or made to work together vs. cobbling a suspension together trying to save a few hundred dollars. 6112s would be a nice adjustable option too, and come with new springs. 6112s are pretty reasonably priced too.

Good stuff here. This largely confirms my reservation with running different brand springs and shocks.

I'm only wanting a max of 2" lift so now I'm looking at the OME lift kit with 2884 coils. Seems like a great bang for the buck.

    Here are two options:
OME: Eibach: I went with the Eibach kit which gave me 1" to 1.5" of lift on my '04 doublecab replacing the worn out TRD coils
