Ive read a lot on this forum about folks removing emblems and badges, some plastidip too. Has anyone purchased the overlay that goes over the badges etc? Do they last longterm or is it better just to purchase new badges/emblems and toss the old ones. Not sure condition of paint under what I have currently. Thoughts?

Have not seen that before (the coverings for the black emblems). Only seen new emblems in stock colors and black. Some have had success with using what ever to cover their emblems other just buy new ones in black and add those. I was one of those people.:)

I saw this the other day. The user called his going "snow white". I am starting to like that as well. Man, once I think I know a path I want to go, I see more mods or pics that I like that make me second guess myself. Im gonna pump the brakes to make sure on any new mods. @Deacon Blues Im not familiar as some on models of Tundras. did that grill come standard on the 2018? Lights too?

I removed my bed sticker and plastidipped both badges on the door. Haven't committed to removing them yet but likely will down the road when I change my wheels and tires up. I do not recommend the overlays, it is and looks like a piece of cheap plastic on your doors. They began popping off and were a NIGHTMARE to remove, getting the adhesive off the chrome - assortment of chemicals didn't work very well leaving me with one option to scrap at it to get it removed.

Yes the lights and grill are all OEM, just need to get the C4 bumper mounted and that chrome gone and I'll be done modding for a while.

    Probably lol.

    Remove or plastidip IMHO

I did plastidip. So easy and still look great after 4 months and many Costco car washes.

I have a set of overlays for the limited if you’d like to work something out.

I am thinking about a chrome delete too. Can't make up my mind to go black or super white. I think the current paint will be faded compared to new parts. My truck is a 2014 and has been outside the entire time.

Did you have trouble de-badging? Have you done it recently or soon after you purchased? Im curious to know what is underneath the badges glue residue etc.

I did the Tacoma the day I bought it, the Tundra is a 2018 we just got this year. Both were honestly about the same.

Pick a good hot day when the truck has been in the sun, run some fishing line under the emblem and they'll pop right off. Goof Off to dissolve the residue, wash/wax and done.

Tape, tape and more tape. It's the reason I debadged our Tundra and my wife just agreed to have her Rav4 done.

Look at some of the older vehicles on the road, the emblems are usually the first place you see rust.

No rust. Truck was extremely dirty in photo.

That was the iForce badge. Heated up lightly, rubbed off, polish and wax. You'd never know it was there now.
