Was driving to my property this morning and I got about 10 minutes down the road and the check engine light came on. The error in the infotainment system said “a malfunction in the electronic control of the engine, throttle, or automatic transmission has been detected.” I’ve got 16,800 miles. Praying it’s nothing serious.

Just had this happen with only 2k miles and it was a bad A/F sensor. The code the dealer pulled from the OBD2 was P219519 A/F sensor signal stuck lean bank 1 sensor 1 short circuit in sensor b1s1. They replaced the sensor

Welp… I got an update today from the dealer. I’ve got a bad turbo. Anyone know what kind of mess I’m in for? How long the repair takes? Things to watch out for?

Is it the turbo or something on the turbo?
I know on a Toyota forklift 3 cyl diesel or 4 cyl the turbo is all one, meaning any sensor on the turbo is not replaceable only the whole unit can be replaced.
Customers are still running 15w40 yet the operators manual calls for 10w30 nothing heavier......outcome is always $5,000 for a turbo assembly with low hours.
Vain controller or seals blown pumping oil into the intake and exhaust system.

I think he said turbo sub assembly. I don’t know much about turbos so I have no idea what that is. But he said it’s around $6000 in parts and 13 hours of labor.

Thats good, I though I saw a bunch of cabs off trucks not long after the 22 release when a bunch of them had waste gate issue. I could be confused with another issue. But its good if they don't have to do that.

13 hours for a turbo swap...damn. Your dealer should be called milkmen.

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
Not the case now. My friend is a Toyota mechanic 30 years now and they figured out a way to swap the turbos out without removing the cab. You’re right they used to remove the cabs initially. The gas line can also be fixed without dropping the tank completely. Good thing that Toyota mechanics talk.

Well.....we are back. Got the same error on my truck two nights ago. What are the odds the other turbo has now failed?
