How do we know what phase we assigned to for engine swap. My tundras VIN is apart of the recall. My local dealer didn’t seem to know much.

I called the Service Manager at my dealer and asked if I could be put on their internal list back in October. He said he would put me on their list and called me the week before Christmas and told me he ordered the new motor for my truck. He called last week and said it had arrived.

Last week I also received the most recent recall letter and my service advisor called me and scheduled my truck to go under the knife to get it’s new heart on 1/13/25. My build date is 2/22 but not sure if that has anything to do with when I was allocated the new motor. It seemed more to do with when my dealer ordered it specifically for my truck.

I haven’t had any problems, runs great at 23,000 miles. I bought a Toyota Platinum 10/125 mile warranty but plan to ask if they are extending the warranty on the new motor.

It’s based on your vehicle build date. The first phase is any build date up to late February.

Not sure how to find what phase you’re in, something dealership should know based on vin number and the build date. If they tried to order an engine with your vin and your build date is not in the current phase yet, it shouldn’t let them.
The dealer will enter your vin into TiS, and it’ll show if remedy available.

It’s similar to the key fob shortage when new vehicle only gets one key.

Wrote to my dealer about the swap.
“If the engine fails, we can bring the vehicle in for diagnostics. However, we cannot promise anything will be covered under the recall, until Toyota releases all the recall information.”
Not very happy with this response, especially considering all the swaps I’ve already heard about in the forums. I appreciate any advice. Mine is a ‘22 covered under the recall.
