Entune Album Art “Safety” feature

I’m sure this has been addressed but I’ve searched and could not find anything on it. Apparently Toyota has a “safety” feature on their entune stereos that “blank out” the album cover art once you put your truck in drive. It’s completely ridiculous. Does anyone know a work-around for this so that the album always shows on the head unit?

Anyone ? Is there no fix for this?

 

I've noticed this on my 2021, on my 2016 it displayed the album art. Curious if there is a solution.

 

How does that make it any more safe? You can still look at the song name while driving. My 18 doesn’t do it but is a different radio and entune system.

 

I have no idea. The bluetooth symbol is more distracting to me than any album art ever would be.

Theres got to be a fix for this, just haven’t figured it out yet.

 

Use CarPlay. Entune is and always will be terrible.

 

My ‘18 Tacoma showed the album art the entire time, I just started noticing my Tundra doing this and I figured it was due to a bad/poor connection but apparently not. So weird

 

Never noticed it... I just use CarPlay.

Maybe I’ll have to get the wireless carplay transmitter and be done with it.

 

I am not sure about the album art however I have a separate issue. I use a usb drive with music on it. If I try to search for an album or artist, while driving, it just auto plays a random song. If I am at a stop or just sitting in the truck, I have no problem. Anyone else have this issue and/or know why? I assume for "safety" reasons but if my passenger still can't change the album or artist while I'm driving, that is just plain ridiculous.

I wonder if the Entune In motion bypass does away with all the crap Toyota blocks from doing while in motion. Mainly meant so you can type destinations in the Nav while driving. Wonder since the system thinks it’s in park all the other nannies stop as well?

I threw in the towel on the Entune and now just use Apple CarPlay with the wireless adapter. Works great.

 

It's not just entune, my $$$$ Kenwood won't show album art either. That's due to spotify, they impose their "Car View" user interface and delete everything except play/pause and back/skip controls. (OTOH within Android Auto I still see the album art and full controls... but it's likely just a matter of time until Google also removes the full controls)
