Happened after the bullbar came up and hit the truck, had the bullbar fixed in place but what is likely the repair cost?

Hard to tell from a single picture that is from so far away.

Assuming the headlight is ok and not cracked, it looks like you lucked out. I'm thinking you can get by with just replacing the quarter panel and having it paint matched. I don't think they'll be able to pull out that damage since it's on that hard body seam so the panel will likely have to be replaced. It doesn't even look like your fender trim is damaged.

In the grand scheme of body work...this is a pretty easy repair. A good body shop will be able to knock this out pretty quickly. It'll probably take them longer to get the quarter panel in their hands than to do the actual work.

Pro tip: If you want to save some money on labor (assuming you're paying this out of pocket)...take off that bullbar yourself before you take it in.

One arm and one leg ...

Depends. If you take it to Maaco for a half-a** repair it is probably a few hundred. If you take it to the dealer (or dealer's partner body shop), they will replace the fender, so a couple thousand.

Those damn things are so stupid... had one on my second 4runner and it caused so much damage over time. Real bumpers with grill guards FTW

Im guessing it’s an aftermarket bull bar that attaches with a few brackets under the bumper. This creates a lever arm from the end of the cow catcher to the brackets, making it easy to get leverage on t brackets, bend them, and smash the cow catcher in to the grill/fender/bumper, etc. The ARB bumper I assume you are ordering has the headlight loops integrated in to the bumper, not reaching around it so they are much more stout. But, that said, the headlight loops can still bend from impact simply because they are a beam supported on one end instead of two, so leverage is multiplied not divided. If that makes sense… My general impression of those ARB bumpers is that they are solid.

And to answer the OP’s question, a good dentless repair guy might be able to affect a decent repair. I still prefer pop and paint on most things but sometimes those dentless repairs are pretty darn good. I do have a few small ones that were done as a short term fix on some dings and they show up when the weather goes from freezing to luke-warm. For a traditional fix I’d guess 600-1000. They shouldn’t need to replace the fender. And the parts availability they will prolly opt not to. My two cents.

you should be fine.. this is the classic bolt on guard that attaches on huge lever arms and vibrates while driving. My c4 has taken out 4 or 5 deer now and doesnt have a scratch.

Unfortunately this is a 3 stage pearl white paint so it will be a bit more expensive. Replacing the fender means that you have to blend the front door and hood for color matching and remove the bumper cover / headlamp assembly. When you remove the bumper cover you have to then recalibrate the safety sensor located in the front bumper cover. This repair will more than likely cost OP around $3,000. Parts for these newer models go on backorder frequently.

But yes, removing the brush guard before it goes into the shop will reduce the cost.
