Recently noticed one of the hangers on the front exhaust pipe of my 2005 Tundra has rusted through, just behind the driver side door (see pic).

Since the pipe looks like it has another few years in it, I'd like to fix the hanger. But this is tricky, because in the original the supporting rod is welded to the pipe and extends horizontally from there to the rubber hanger.

The "universal" aftermarket brackets that I've seen are designed to hang down from above, not extend to the side. So I'm trying to figure out an aftermarket bracket or clamp/rod combination that can extend to the side and remain rigid so as to support the pipe.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Edit: Looking for a solution that doesn't require welding.

Take it to an exhaust shop. Let them know you are contemplating a new exhaust system but need to keep this one working for a little while longer. They will likely fix your broken hanger on the cheap. If that happens, you know a good place to do business with in the future.

If you don't want to take it to a shop and can't weld it get something like this.

If it's not long enough to slip through the mount get something like this

and clamp the two together with these in the correct size to slip over the rods.

Thanks. That's essentially what I ended up doing. Took it to a local mechanic who added some metal and welded.
