    I have a 2008 SR5 5.7 170k miles.
Looking to put a new muffler on it on the cheap. Just want to give it a little bit of sound

But I also want something easy to just bolt up.

    Any suggestions?
Side question will this mess with my engine with that many miles? Or sensors?

I installed a @dirtydeeds system on my 2007 5.7 when it had over 280,000 miles... nothing but smiles since then.

You said you wanted to do it “on the cheap” so I’m guessing you have a budget your working with. BAM is a cat back system so it’s going to be alot more expensive than just a muffler replacement. Check out the Flowmaster Super 50 Series. It’s tame and doesn’t overload the cabin with a bunch of drone on the highway. This is a great video of someone going thru the whole process of upgrading to a Super 50 on a 5.7L Tundra.

Cheap usually means expensive because you end up replacing it with what you should have bought in the first place.

BAMufflers are actually just the middle portion of the exhaust that has the muffler in it, not a full cat back. You retain the stock tail pipe. You are correct that they are more expensive than a chop and weld muffler, but it is an easier install and very easy to put back to stock. Personally, I'd save up for the Dirty Deeds because there are tons of options and he even does customer specific builds to get you exactly what you are after.

Thats true. Without knowing the OP’s budget, I figured I’d post a decent option for around $300 installed.

I had a Super 50 installed on mine, and am very happy with it.

Wanted to go the BAmuffler / Dirty Deeds route, but darn shipping costs to Alaska made it substantially more.
