hey everyone, I am new to the forum but ran into a major problem while installing my Expedition one front bumper this weekend on my 2017 Tundra.

Companies invoice says it’s a 2014+ but the installation instructions included say 2007-2013. Didn’t think of it as a big deal, go online and get the right ones.

Well the directions state recommendation of 1/2” gap between body and bumper. The issue I ran into is I can’t even get it to sit below the body line period. I have adjusted everything to as low as it can go and nothing. I attempted several times to contact company Friday without success. I am going to keep trying Monday but figured I would ask the group if they had this happen on their installs or recommendations. My opinion is either the bumper mount is out of spec (unlikely) or they sent me the mounting package for the 2007-2013 model. The bumper itself appears to correct but I cannot make final determination till I can get it mounted. After 22 weeks of waiting this is beyond. Frustrating.

Subd. I've got this on order. First issue I've saw so curious as to what the issue is. And yes, though a quality product, lead times are rough. Ordered a roof rack in dec.

I have used them before on a 2012 model which is why I went back to them when I bought my 2017. The lead times were crazy but I was able to deal. This is just frustrating as they are not open on saturdays for questions so I am sitting with my truck disassembled. I can at least install the rear bumper and swing arm this weekend while I wait for answers.

I don’t recall the mounts having that much rise to them on my 2017’s E1. I suspect the paperwork is right and it’s a 2nd gen bumper.

I had a couple of issues with one of my E1 deliveries and the folks there were great to work with and helped me out. Hopeful you get similar service to get it sorted out.

Does the bumper dip down in the center?

I'm thinking you got the 2nd gen mount from looking at the pics. I recently had the opposite thing occur with my DV8 bumper on my 07. Mount too low and most likely for the 2014 and up. There seems to definitely be a difference.

Thanks guys. Definitely looks like at least that mount is the wrong model. I went and tried to line up the mount with the bumper and even those holes don’t line up so I will be bugging manufacturer Monday and hopefully they correct the issue ASAP. Thanks for all the info and pic for comparison!

No it doesn’t dip down at all. It looks like the bumper is correct and the mount is incorrect

Ya that’s a big difference! Definitely is the wrong mount.

Not sure what’s going on over there. They sent me the wrong mount for my bumper a couple months ago as well. Then the powder-coat chipped the first day. They used to be the only company I’d recommend to customers. Now it seems like the quality is taking a hit. Not to mention longer lead time then advertised online.

Ya idk either. I scratched up my powder coat on the bumper trying to fit it on the wrong mount but that’s my fault. Luckily there is a local place that is fixing it cheap for me. And Roger over are expedition one was super friendly and quick to resolve it. They over nighted the correct part so I will be getting it all mounted up this weekend

@Pip395, thanks for the post and the heads up. I recently received my Expedition One bumper and was just waiting for a few last parts before starting install. Saw your post and decided to double check the mount they sent me. It was the wrong one as well. Roger was quick to respond and the correct is on the way. Glad I saw this and checked.

Like others, the wait for my bumper was quite a bit longer than expected. Wasn't a big deal for me but could be for others.

Sorry to hear you had the same issue. Someone in their Quality Control with mounting kits seems to be messing up. Luckily they fix it for free and quick to resolve. Issue I have now is I can’t get them to send me a shipping return label for the wrong mount kit they sent me so I can return it. Guess they don’t want it back70BB14DB-B882-4474-85CC-C5E86FB0172A.jpg AEC550FD-7D4E-4619-AC65-F8C247158986.jpg

Bumper looks great. I didn't go with the bar and have been questioning my decision since ordering. Just have to wait till I get it installed and see how it looks...

I went around about the same thing wondering large hoop, small hoop, no hoop. But decided on the small after what happened with my 2013 tundra when it had a hoop and went off roading and the hoop saved damage to the grill and radiator

I know this is an old thread, but these guys have the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced, and quality control on accessories is not good. On my dual swing rear bumper that just arrived the lock pin holes do not line up and are off by more than 1/4", the water can mounts came with marred threads so cannot mount, and they delivered the bumper and then informed me some things they told me could be done in fact could not and weren't and I could just live with it and go away. They will email you, do not answer their phones, and tell you why, and i have the emails documenting this, this was my fault and I must be confused. They clearly are a low quality product from a service perspective and i wish ADD made a rear dual swing, because not only if my front bumper from them awesome, but their customer service when I had an issue to resolve was spectacular. If you are considering ordering from this company I would suggest you do not if you have any customer service issues, don't expect any decent service. And don't be shocked when the item comes wrong and they do not care. How unfortunate they are this bad.

I had multiple issues with the bumper they sent me. They sent the wrong mounting bracket and the recessed light modules were missing mounting brackets. I was able to get them to sent the correct parts so that it all came together, but took time, effort and stretched the job out quite a bit. None of it was easy.

I've been happy with how the bumper came out, but not sure I'd order anything else from them at this point.
