Had my first experience with PCS. Dang truck slammed on the brakes enough to make it skid.

I get that’s what its supposed to do, and if you’re not paying attention it’ll save your a$$, but the car in front of me was turning left, almost out of the lane, and I was a good distance away from it. It caught me off-guard LOL!

Anyone have similar experiences with your PCS?

I did . A car cut off the car in front of me on the freeway . I saw it and I was probably 1/4 seconds behind the system slamming the brakes on . My lunch box flew forward from the seat . Basing it on that experience it’s worth it to me . I may not catch it next time

I had the one in Camry commuter I used to have deploy once. It will toss your cookies if you don't expect it.

I think you can change the sensitivity in the dash controls.

Oh nice! I’ll check the settings, because dang that was an overreaction.

Mine went off several times this past winter when I was trying to maneuver close to snow banks at less than 5 mph. Really annoying.

I have turned it off in every car I own that has it because it wants to brake at times when I know exactly what's happening in front of me and don't need to, putting me at risk of being rear ended, such as the scenario in the first post.

I am thankful for it and definitely would have crashed without it. Someone decided to switch lanes from a standstill into the 30 MPH lane I was in without warning. The truck was skidding to a halt before I knew what happened.

...but when it slams on the brakes when I'm backing up a trailer? I have never seen something so asinine and frustrating.

they need to set it so when you have a 4 pin trailer connector , it’s shuts off automatically like it does when you have a 7 pin

Yes the pre collision takes some getting used to. My first experience was with a rental car and I was pissed.
When I bought my 2020 Tundra I quickly learned that it senses vehicles that slow down quickly and would try to stop even if they have turned out of your lane.
You have to flick off the cruise or hit the brakes to cancel the cruise. Otherwise hang on to your teeth.
My new 23 Tundra doesn’t seem as sensitive. I did see where you can adjust the sensitivity on the 23
